BACS is seeking LVNs for full-time, part-time, and night positions in the East Bay, and South San Francisco working with homeless individuals in the community. The Nursing Coordinator is part of a mental and health care team providing medical case management coordination and care to participants.

This is a field-based position and must be able to work in the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Triage participants at intake/assessment and throughout respite stay.

Administer psychotropic medication injections, order medications, and coordinate with the treatment team.

Support participants and treatment team with access to refills acting as a liaison between pharmacies and insurance.

Provide support, education, and medical information to staff, participants, caregivers, and family.

Aid participants in understanding their medical needs and help them plan for coordination of care with PCPs.

Document all participants’ treatment and interactions accurately and completely.

Establish a harmonious and collaborative working relationship with the participant and treatment team.

Embrace diversity in all aspects and work positively using a teamwork approach.

Develop procedures for monitoring participants on antipsychotic medications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
LVN certification from accredited nursing school and current CA license.

Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and ability to make independent decisions and exercise good judgment.

Background and experience in mental health.

Bilingual English and Spanish desirable.

Valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage. DMV printout required.

Healthcare/vulnerable client employer, verified COVID vaccination required.

COMPENSATION:
LVN is $35/hour

Fully paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage for employees – nothing comes out of your check

Wu Yee Children’s Services believes nothing is more essential than excellent child care and education for all our children, right from the start. Every day we partner with parents, as well as countless individuals and organizations across San Francisco, to provide a network that strengthens and connects a diverse, resilient community around our children.

The Child Care Provider Mentor (Spanish) will recruit Spanish/English speaker participants interested in obtaining a family child care license or expanding their existing license. Emphasis will be placed on recruitment of new and currently licensed family child care educators (FCC educators) who care for infants and toddlers. The Specialist will support educators through training, peer learning community (PLC) and technical assistance to build capacity and improve child care quality.

Please note: This is a temporary position - under contract until 06/30/2022

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Builds trusting and constructive working relationships with FCC educators characterized by a high level of cooperation, acceptance and mutual respect.

Provides program orientation, training, PLCs and technical assistance to FCC educators as needed to support the opening, business retention or expansion of their licensed family child care business.

In collaboration with the program manager and community partners, design ongoing professional develop pathways to support the growth of FCC educator competencies in early childhood development, education and business development.

Works with the program team to develop recruitment plan.

Works with the program team to develop and coordinate training and PLC materials.

Provides training, PLCs and technical assistance to FCC educators and their staff who are members of the agency family child care network.

Collaborates with FCC educators to develop written individual action plans to meet integrated goals and objectives including but not limited to business planning, professional development, marketing, budgeting, handbook development and recruitment.

Provides training and technical assistance onsite (such as pre-site visit) to family child care educators and their staff who are members of the agency family child care network.

Supports FCC educators in understanding the elements and requirements of the San Francisco subsidized child care systems.

Prepares written communications for participants, i.e., training materials, handouts, PowerPoint slides, memos, flyers, newsletters and forms as needed in the FCC educator home language.

Initiates and maintains participants’ files in according with program requirements and funding regulations.

Completes data entry to program databases in accordance with funder requirements.

Assist with the completion of program reports, including providing data and descriptive client stories.

Attend community meetings and events including the Community Care Licensing Stakeholders meeting and other related updated meeting with FCC educators.

Initiates communication with the program manager, director and other program staff when issues and/or concerns arise.

Work at night shifts and/or weekends as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills Required:

Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish/English preferred.

Experience working with the Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) community of San Francisco preferred.

Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the early childhood educational field and prefer experience working with FCC educators.

Experience working in non-profit environment ideal.

Knowledge of family child care business development and requirements.

Experience providing training and/or PLC using adult learning principles.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team setting.

Detail oriented and strong organizational and time management skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to examine and interpret high volume of documents.

Proficient in data entry and strong computer skills highly desirable.

Models good judgment and effective problem solving.

Must be flexible and able to work occasional nights and weekends including special events that are client facing.

Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits:

This position pays $31.25 - 33.65/hour based on experience.
