How can I grow as a nanny? ✨

✔️Look into gaining childcare certificates. For example, are you interested in the RIE method? Riesers for Babies is just one example of platforms that offer great classes! ✔️Seek roles that highlight skills that you’d really enjoy doing or have been curious about. Are you longing to be a household manager someday? Family assistant tasks can be a great next step for this goal! Read job descriptions thoroughly to understand what tasks excite you or skills you need to hone in for your goals. Consider offering to take on more responsibilities in your current role if you are looking to transition to FA by demonstrating proactiveness. If you don’t already, offer to run errands, organize the pantry, help plan the birthday party or help schedule a vendor.
✔️Attend a nanny conference if you're able to! Connecting with community is everything. The role of a nanny can inherently feel lonely at times. There are wonderful conferences throughout the year such as- Nannypalooza, INA conference, and the NCS conference! (Please comment below if there are any others we should include!) There are fantastic speakers at these events that touch on very important industry related topics! Attending INNTD in your neighborhood in September is another great way to learn and grow together with fellow nannies.

💸Salary: $55-$60/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)

A family in Sunnyvale is seeking an engaging, loving nanny/family assistant to help with household tasks and childcare for their three children (ages 3, 7 and 9 years old). Responsibilities include driving from school to extra-curriculars, providing homework help, planning fun projects or outings based on the children’s interests, running errands, preparing kid lunches and simple family dinners, light tidying and organization, and family laundry. Their middle child is mildly on the spectrum, so previous experience working with kids with special needs is preferable.

Their ideal candidate build rapport with the children and feels like part of the family. Someone playful who genuinely enjoys supporting the household will be the best fit.

The family would like the FA to accompany them for some travel; usually two weeks per year over spring break and Thanksgiving to e.g. Hawaii or Mexico. The family takes longer trips during the summer and over Christmas but will guarantee hours when they are gone if the FA is not traveling with them.

The role is part of a three-driver team that provides dependable transportation and vehicle support for the family. This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt (overtime-eligible) position for a professional service driver who is comfortable supporting children, principals, family members, adult guests, and VIP passengers. The driver reports to the Estate Manager, who assigns daily coverage.

The family requires reliable daytime coverage within a 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM service window. The three drivers rotate coverage. The regular schedule is a 40-hour workweek. With rotation and family needs, total hours typically range from 40 to 60 per week, and all overtime is paid as described under Compensation. Schedules are published [at least one week] in advance, and the team coordinates coverage for same-day changes. There is no overnight work.

A family in Cow Hollow is seeking a full-time nanny to care for their two easygoing, active children ages 6 (boy) and 9 (girl) years old. They are in different schools and activities so this person will help mom divide and conquer the afternoon routine. Responsibilities include preparing snacks, organizing the children’s rooms and play areas, walking the dogs, prepping/unpacking backpacks, driving from school to activities, kid laundry, and support with the evening routine (homework help, warming dinner, etc.).
The nanny must have flexibility to stay later as needed (for example, if mom is working late, school meeting, etc.) and be willing to occasionally work in Napa on the weekends. Their preferred candidate is a native Spanish speaker, fun and upbeat, and very professional. It’s important this person enjoy being active and comfortable engaging with the kids in physical activity (running, scootering, biking, playing soccer/basketball, etc.).
