RSS Imperial Beach had the honor of watching our applicants conduct Initial Drill, led by SSgt Sotelo, Charlie Company, Platoon 1046. 🇺🇸

Recruits Nama, Nguyen, Lafrancis, Clark, and Sanchez are only four weeks into recruit training, but the transformation from civilian to United States Marine is already undeniable. Seeing that change firsthand was an incredible reminder of the discipline, confidence, and teamwork being built every single day. 📈

Initial Drill is one of the first major evaluations of a recruit’s ability to move, respond to commands, and operate as a disciplined unit. It’s more than marching—it’s about attention to detail, accountability, and learning to function as one team. 🪖

Watching these recruits execute what they’ve learned in just four weeks was something special. We’re proud of how far they’ve come, and we can’t wait to see the Marines they become. Semper Fidelis.

IMPERIAL BEACH RUNNING CHALLENGE! 🏃🏃🏽‍♀️💨

Poolee Angel Espino came out on top in this month’s Imperial Beach Running Challenge with an incredible 157.9 miles logged! 🏆

This is no small accomplishment. Running nearly 160 miles in a month takes a level of mental toughness and endurance that most people never experience. It means waking up on the days you don’t feel like it, pushing through fatigue, managing your time, and remaining committed to a goal long after the initial motivation fades.

To recognize his outstanding performance, Angel was awarded a custom RSS Imperial Beach crewneck and a pair of Shokz headphones. 🎧

Congratulations, Angel. Your hard work set the standard and proved that consistency beats excuses every time. Semper Fi! 🇺🇸🔥

RSS Imperial Beach climbed First Sergeant’s Hill—not for distance, not for time, but for remembrance. 🇺🇸

This mountain stands as a tribute to the Marines and Sailors who came before us, who gave everything so others could carry on the legacy. This hike assisted our applicants understand that service is bigger than any one person, and that those who fall are never forgotten.

Every step was taken with purpose. Every breath was a reminder. We remember their sacrifice, and we carry it forward.
