SUMMARY
Handgraaf Estates seeks an experienced, hands-on Household Manager for a private family residence in Brentwood, Los Angeles. This is not a desk-based administrative role. The principals need a practical, resourceful professional who takes ownership of the home, works comfortably alongside a fully staffed house with housekeepers, and a private chef and who is willing to get their hands dirty.
The successful candidate will be the household’s first responder: investigating, troubleshooting, and safely resolving everyday maintenance, technology, appliance, audiovisual, Wi-Fi, and property issues before calling a vendor. They should enjoy figuring things out, know when specialist expertise is genuinely required, and avoid both unnecessary service calls and costly mistakes.
Sound judgment, initiative, discretion, and flexibility are essential. The right person anticipates needs, follows through without repeated direction, and keeps the residence functioning smoothly while adapting to changing schedules, locations, and priorities.
When specialized contractors are required, the Household Manager will coordinate and supervise their work, including landscapers, IT and audiovisual professionals, HVAC technicians, maintenance contractors, and other service providers. They are expected to understand the issue well enough to communicate effectively with vendors, evaluate proposed solutions, and ensure work is completed properly.
