We would like to recognize and celebrate Black History Month.
In 1915, a half a century after the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in the US, Black History Month was established.
Carter G. Woodson and minister Jesse E. Mooreland founded an organization to research and promote achievements by Black Americans and other peoples of African descent.
February was chosen to coincide with Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass's birthdays.
Join us in honoring accomplishments of African Americans across U.S. history and society who went on to become leaders in industry, politics, science, culture and much more.
