The American Veterans Initiative (AVI) was begun in early 2013 to help place veterans who were transitioning from active duty or a recent activation in the National Guard or Reserves. We found that employers were willing to hire veterans and veterans were actively seeking jobs but there was a disconnect in converting military training and skills to the civilian workplace. Broome, has over 29 years of active and reserve service in the U.S. Army as well as extensive experience in the civilian arena as a business owner and leader he is able to analyze military skills and background and match those attributes to civilian employment arenas. Beginning with the transportation industry we were able to find positions for three veterans, two Army and one Air Force. From there we moved into the energy industry and fuel distribution with our latest employers coming from the insurance and construction industries. We are willing to work with any and all employers who are seeking quality employees with military experience as well as the family members of veterans who have supported the nation's heroes during peace and war. We make the effort to attend military job fairs across the country and accept referrals from fellow vets or their friends and family. We also prefer to meet personally with employers to discuss their specific needs and required skill levels. We believe that veterans have the talent, leadership training and experience to make the best employees.
