Without naming names out of respect, it’s no secret that many companies, especially within the mining industry, are currently doing layoffs and restructuring.

When situations like this arise, it naturally forces people to reflect on job security, professional growth, missed opportunities due to internal politics, and most importantly the well-being of their families.

These concerns are very much real.

Is it safe to explore other opportunities?
Will my employer find out?
Could there be consequences for simply having a conversation?

For a lot of professionals, the fear of retaliation, being labeled “disengaged” or “not loyal” is enough to stop them from taking control of their careers altogether.

That’s where trust matters and it’s what we pride ourselves on.

At Riptide Recruiting, confidentiality isn’t a talking point, it’s a core value. Every one of us has been in a candidate’s position, and we understand how personal, high-stakes, and sometimes intimidating a job search can be.

That perspective shapes how we operate.

We protect your personal information and never share your details without your explicit consent. And when we do present you to an employer, it’s because we genuinely believe the opportunity aligns with your goals, your experience, and your long-term stability.

An opportunity with a company that values you as a professional, compensates you fairly, treats you like a person and not a headcount.

If you’re quietly exploring what’s next, send your resume our way and let us handle the rest.

We work for you. We represent you.

Honest truth:
Your resume doesn’t get “read” at first, it gets scanned by a recruiter who most of the time won’t bother to fully read all of the details you’ve listed or it gets filtered out by AI.

Here’s what most recruiters look at in the first 6–8 seconds:
• Your current role & company
• Job titles from the last ~5 years
• Bullet length & structure
• Keywords that match the role

What helps immediately:
✅ Clear job titles (don’t get cute)
✅ Bullets capped at 1–2 lines
✅ White space, crowded resumes get skipped

Think of your resume like a billboard, not a biography.

Tomorrow: why most resumes undersell great candidates (and how to fix it).

I don’t post about candidates often but when I do, it’s because they’re truly rare.

I’m currently representing a senior technology and innovation executive who has:
• Built and scaled a technology company from a concept to a hard hitting competitor
• Led $100M+ P&L businesses across multiple continents
• Driven growth without relying on excessive spending or headcount
• Led acquisitions and integrated founder-led businesses into scalable operations
• Partnered directly with CEOs, boards, and executive committees
• Built long-term relationships with the most respected operators in their industry
• Operated with integrity as a non-negotiable leadership principle

This is the kind of leader you bring in before the next phase of growth, not after.

I’m having very selective, confidential conversations with CEOs and founders who are thinking seriously about their next CTO, CIO, or Chief Innovation Leader.

If this resonates, feel free to reach out or pass this along to someone who should see it.

🔍 Recruiting has changed. The best talent isn’t always applying.

In today’s market, finding great candidates requires more than job boards and keyword searches. Recruiters who stand out are taking intentional and human-first approaches to talent discovery.

Here are a few unique strategies we believe make the difference:

• Proactive conversations, not reactive searches – The strongest candidates are often employed. Building relationships before there’s an opening creates long-term pipelines.
• Looking beyond the “perfect” resume – Skills can be taught. Curiosity, adaptability, and leadership potential often matter more than a linear career path.
• Personalized outreach – Generic messages get ignored. Thoughtful, tailored communication builds trust and response rates.
• Understanding the “why,” not just the “what” – Candidates aren’t just changing jobs; they’re changing priorities. Listening matters.
• Partnering with hiring managers deeply – Knowing the team, culture, and future goals helps identify candidates who truly fit not just fill a seat.

At Riptide Recruiting, we believe great recruiting is about connection, strategy, and long-term impact not volume.

Hiring and career growth work best when they’re approached with intention.

In a market that often feels rushed and transactional, the strongest outcomes still come from clarity, alignment, and trust.

At Riptide Recruiting, the focus is on:
• Understanding long-term goals
• Creating meaningful professional connections
• Supporting thoughtful hiring and career decisions

Whether you’re building a team, exploring your next opportunity, or simply staying connected to the market, a strategic and human-centered approach makes all the difference.

Your resume is your first impression, make it count 🌊

In today’s competitive job market, small resume mistakes can cost big opportunities. Here are a few quick recommendations every candidate should follow:

✔️ Keep it clean & concise (1–2 pages max)
✔️ Tailor your resume for each role
✔️ Use measurable achievements, not just duties
✔️ Skip the fluff, clarity wins
✔️ Proofread like your career depends on it (because it does)

Your resume should tell a story of impact, not just experience.
If you’re not getting callbacks, it’s time to refine your approach.

At Riptide Recruiting, we help candidates stand out not blend in.

🌊 Ride the wave. Elevate your resume.

Top Talent Is Hard to Find. Keeping Them Is the Real Advantage.

In today’s market, retention isn’t about perks it’s about purpose, leadership, and trust. The companies winning top talent long-term focus on a few core best practices:

1️⃣ Hire with intention
Retention starts before day one. Aligning on values, expectations, and long-term fit prevents costly turnover later.

2️⃣ Invest in leadership, not just management
People don’t leave companies they leave leaders. Strong communication, empathy, and accountability make all the difference.

3️⃣ Prioritize growth and development
Top performers want to grow. Clear career paths, mentorship, and upskilling opportunities keep talent engaged and motivated.

4️⃣ Create a culture of recognition
Recognition doesn’t have to be expensive just genuine. Feeling seen and valued goes a long way.

5️⃣ Listen and act
Regular feedback loops and actually implementing change builds trust and loyalty.

Retention isn’t reactive. It’s strategic.

The strongest organizations don’t just fill roles they build environments people want to stay in.

At Riptide Recruiting, we help companies hire with retention in mind so teams don’t just grow, they last.

🌊 Build the team that rides the wave, not the turnover.

As the new year approaches, many professionals quietly begin reflecting on their careers.

New goals. New priorities. New opportunities.

For some, that reflection turns into an active job search and for others, it starts as a simple question: “Is there something better out there for me?”

The beginning of the year is one of the most active times for candidate movement.

Top talent is reassessing compensation, growth potential, leadership, and work-life balance.

For companies, this creates both a challenge and an opportunity:
• High performers may be more open to conversations
• Passive candidates become reachable
• Speed and strategy matter more than ever

At Riptide Recruiting, we help companies get ahead of this wave connecting them with exceptional talent before the market becomes saturated.

If you’re planning to hire in the new year, now is the time to prepare.
And if you’re a professional considering your next move, let’s talk.

🌊 The tide is shifting.
