Byrd Staffing Job Announcement
Position Status: Temporary to Permanent (Full-Time)
Position: Janitorial
Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary: $13.00 per hour (weekly pay)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Knowledge and skills necessary to perform the position include but are not limited to, the following:
o Working professionally as a member of the Environmental Services team to ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness in all buildings and grounds
o Performing a variety of cleaning activities
o Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping; shampooing carpets, stripping, burnishing, and/or waxing floors
o Scrubbing showers, bathtubs, and/or bathrooms
o Emptying trash and recycling containers
o Reports needed or observed repairs and problems discovered on campus; notify superiors of damage, deficits, and disturbances on campus
o Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role requires medium to heavy lifting, bending, squatting, and use of brooms, vacuums, mops, floor stripping, and waxing equipment.
DESIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper, or evidence of ability to be trained in this role. Ability to work with little supervision and maintain high level of performance. Customer oriented and friendly. Ability to manage time wisely and work efficiently without compromising quality. Knowledge of the English language. High school degree preferred. Must have valid driver’s license and driving record approved by Human Resources. Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
