A Work Experience is about more than a first job - it’s about giving young people the opportunity to discover what they’re capable of. 💙

Through Kansas WorkforceONE’s Youth Work Experience program, local youth spent the summer gaining hands-on experience with the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas and the Boys & Girls Club of the Kickapoo Tribe. From helping lead activities and classes to engaging with children in their community, they’re building real-world skills in leadership, communication, teamwork and responsibility.

We’re proud to support young people as they show up, step up and start building their futures. 🚀

Families Together, Inc. is hosting CHASE Fest 2026, an annual conference-style festival dedicated to uplifting Kansas youth and young adults with disabilities and mental health challenges and their families.

The day will feature inspiring speakers, youth-led sessions, creative activities, and opportunities for families to connect, learn and celebrate what’s possible. 💚

✨ Meet Illiana ✨

Illiana is excited and happy to be a part of the team at Garden Valley Retirement Village! Last year, Illiana participated in the first TeenWORKS program with KANSASWORKS Garden City, where she learned valuable workplace readiness skills as well as participating in workshops.

During her work experience, Illiana will be helping residents stay hydrated, providing companionship and opportunities for socialization, and assisting with a variety of other duties. We are excited to see her put the skills she has learned into practice and grow through this experience.

We wish Illiana the very best as she begins this new work experience! The residents are just as happy and excited to see Illiana as she is to be there!
