Please welcome our new President this year.

Hello, fellow students.
My name is Miranda Hohner, and I am truly honored and excited to serve as the new President of the Student Veterans Association at Kansas State University, Salina.
I am currently pursuing an associate's degree in applied business. While I am not a Veteran myself, I am the first Affiliated student to serve as President. I am married to a veteran and to a former student veteran who was President from 2023 to 2025. Many of you may have seen me on campus before I even became a student last fall. I plan to work with other veteran organizations to grow this community that has been built before us. While I am very experienced in business management, I plan to own and operate a business planning events and experiences for the surrounding communities.
When I first came to K-State, I was just a spouse known as "Hey, you're so-and-so's wife." Then last year, it turned into, "Oh, hey, I've seen you and your kids around campus!" While many of you know I am a mother of two boys. They are a big motivation for me to continue my education. Since my husband had previously served as President of the SVA, I was not unfamiliar with the organization. Still, I saw a way to grow it by including not only veterans but also those connected to them.
As President, I hope to give back to the organization that welcomed me and help create that same experience for others. My goal this year is to grow member involvement. Whether you are a veteran or a child, spouse, or sibling of a veteran, I hope you will join us in growing this community. With the help of our new Vice President, we want to create more networking and professional development opportunities and build a community where everyone is willing to join in. If I can offer anything to incoming students, that would be to reach out to one another and strike up a conversation. You never know who or what you will meet and end up forming a lasting friendship with.
I'm excited to start this year, meet you, and work together to make it an incredible year for our Student Veterans Association.

Please welcome the new Vice President of the Club this year.

Hi everyone! My name is Sulema Marboeuf, and I am truly honored and excited to serve as the new Vice President of the Student Veterans Association at Kansas State University, Salina.

I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in professional Pilot while proudly serving in the United States Air Force Reserve as an Aircrew Flight Equipment Technician. Aviation has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I'm working toward becoming a professional pilot. My military career has taught me the importance of leadership, resilience, teamwork, and serving something bigger than myself.

When I first came to K-State, I was looking for more than just another student organization—I wanted a community of people who understood the unique challenges of balancing military service and college. That's exactly what I found in SVA. It became a place where I felt supported, connected, and encouraged to grow, which inspired me to step into a leadership role.

As Vice President, I hope to give back to the organization that welcomed me and help create that same experience for others. My goal this year is to grow member involvement, create more networking and professional development opportunities, and build a strong, welcoming community where every veteran, service member, and military-connected student feels valued. If I can help even one person feel more connected or make their college journey a little easier, I'll consider this year a success.

I'm excited to meet more of you, hear your stories, and work together to make this an incredible year for our Student Veterans Association.

While we are glad the new school year is here, there have been some changes in the ranks of SVA. We have a new advisor for our club! Please welcome Michael Kerr.

Hey everyone!
My name is Michael Kerr.
I will be serving as the SVA’s staff advisor on Kansas State University Salina campus for the 2026-2027 school year.
I am a Marine Corps Veteran that served from 2013 to 2019 as an Intelligence Specialist and had the secondary responsibility of flying small UAS to support my Battalion, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
This is where I developed a passion for flying and aviation, and, after getting out, decided to move here to pursue my Bachelor's Degree in UAS Flight and Operations, which I earned in 2025.
This will be my first year serving as the staff advisor, and I hope to be as impactful as the many advisors who have come before me.
While this will be my first time serving as the advisor, I have been involved with the SVA as a student since 2021 and have seen the organization blossom from a relatively inactive, loosely affiliated group into a well-structured, active part of the campus and Salina’s community.
I'm glad to have the opportunity to work with like-minded and hardworking veterans and help them accomplish their goals, just as so many people have helped me accomplish mine.
