We are taught that the most important thing to do in an interview is to make an impression. To answer questions in a certain way and reflect to the interviewer what they want to hear.

Client Solutions Director and Human Resources Co-lead Jen Lindahl doesn’t quite agree. Her Echo interview tip of the week is to make an impression by being authentically you. Begin by building a relationship with the interviewer so you can thoroughly understand the role, the leadership, and the organization. After all, it’s important to everyone that you’re genuinely happy and can be successful in the role.

Listen to Jen about why being authentically you is the only way to go and connect with her and the Echo team to find your next amazing opportunity.

In the process of transitioning between roles, jobs, careers?

The impression you make on an interviewer is critical. Your poise, attitude, basic social skills, and communication ability can be just as important as your credentials. The sooner an interview turns into a conversation, the better you can determine if you, the organization, and the job are well-matched. Preparation is key!

Executive Recruiter and Echo Business Operations Co-lead Calvin Fisher certainly thinks so!

Watch Calvin’s video for some great interview tips and connect with him and the team at Echo to find your next amazing opportunity.

Why use a recruiter? It is the question we are most frequently asked. Why should your company use a recruiter?

76% of hiring staff say attracting quality candidates is their biggest challenge. Why?

This statistic may help to explain it:
75% of hiring staff say attracting top talent is easier when the candidate knows about your organization.

Name and brand recognition can be powerful recruiting tools. But what if you’re not Coca-Cola? That is where a recruiter can be an effective ally for a company that needs to stand out more. By serving as an extension of your hiring team, Echo’s team approach to job fulfillment — what we call the Echo Edge — amplifies your voice and your impact so you can find quality candidates and quality candidates can find you.

Why use a recruiter? Perhaps the question we are most frequently asked. Why should your company use a recruiter?

According to the Society for Human Resources Management, a position takes an average of 42 days to fill. And having that position open costs an employer at least $500/day! Yikes!

Most companies cannot afford to have a job open for too long before it begins to hinder the business. This can add stress for those employees who must scramble to cover the workload. It can also take countless hours and months for internal recruiters to source job boards, review resumes from online job submissions, contact the applicants, pre-screen, and set up job interviews. And especially so if they’re attempting to fill multiple positions or highly complicated roles.

Echo can manage the entire hiring process, which allows your talent acquisition team to focus on providing a stellar onboarding process. We’re always growing our candidate pipeline, which is thoroughly vetted and immediately available for consideration. This reduces the time-to-hire from months to weeks without compromising quality.

Time is also very important in keeping candidates engaged and interested in the process. Echo can streamline the process, keep everyone informed, and give a nudge to both sides when needed – meaning you're less likely to miss out on a great candidate due to another offer or candidates feeling stressed about the hiring process.

Why use a recruiter? Perhaps the question we are most frequently asked. Why should your company use a recruiter?

73% of job seekers find the hiring process stressful. One of the MOST STRESSFUL things in their entire lives! According to LinkedIn, 89% of talent say being contacted by their recruiter can make them accept a job offer faster and 69% of new hires will stay for 3 years after a positive onboarding experience.

Our job at Echo Search Group is to take the stress out of hiring for both candidates and companies and to improve the overall recruiting and hiring experience. We build relationships based on trust, honesty and just plain good listening. We get to know our candidates' career goals AND our client's needs for the role and the culture. We’re focused on making the right match for both, not on filling a job or making a placement.
