Today I was delighted to donate some household items and clothing to the Hubbard House, Inc. đź’ś

Donating household essentials like linens, clothing, and everyday items may seem simple, but these can make a space feel more comfortable and welcoming for someone working toward a fresh start. I’m grateful to contribute in a small way to an organization that helps provide safety, stability, and hope to individuals and families affected by domestic violence.

Today I had the pleasure of volunteering at READ USA's Downtown Jacksonville office, helping to categorize books for their reading programs and learning more about the work that goes into getting the right books into students' hands.

It was also such a pleasure meeting Kathi, Melanie, and CEO Rob Kelly and hearing more about ReadUSA’s mission and the impact they’re making in our community in real time. 💙

Literacy and education are incredibly important to me, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to learn, serve, and contribute to a mission that helps children build the skills they need to succeed.

Today I made a trip to my favorite place in Jacksonville: Chamblin Bookmine

This isn’t your average bookstore; it’s truly a cultural hub for reading! You can exchange your used books and get credit for new ones—every reader’s dream, and very eco-friendly.

I’m constantly impressed how they promote the love of reading, and make it relevant in our community. They even added a section special for books beloved by Dolly Parton's Imagination Library .

Happy National Dog Day to the dogs I grew up with!

They're no longer my roommates, but even if I don't get to see them every day anymore, I'll always be grateful for all the memories and unconditional love they gave me.

I truly believe pets make the best companions, which is why supporting animals and pets in need will always be part of my platform. đź’•đź‘‘

If you’re still feeling sad and grieving (like I am) because of Dolly Parton’s passing, we can do right by carrying on her legacy of what made her so special and unique.
Donate books. Donate time. Donate money. Help feed hungry children. Always be kind. Laugh a lot. Learn, listen, and grow.
Find the good in everybody. Find joy, even where there is none, and spread it as much as you can. Do right by your community.
She left a big hole for us to fill, but she showed us that we can do a lot of good in this world by being kind and being ourselves.
Rest in peace Dolly Parton, and thank you for inspiring so many of us—including myself. 🕊

This week I'm making positive note cards for Blessings in a Backpack.
You can do this at home - yes, making a difference in the world at home!

These cards are put in bags of food for school-aged children in need and will provide them with positive words of encouragement to get through their week.

It's a simple, creative way to shine a light in the life of our most vulnerable students. Making an impact with Blessings in a Backpack North Florida Chapter
