Not every hospitality workplace problem is actually an employer problem.
Sometimes it’s a boundary problem.
I recently had a conversation with a hospitality professional who felt frustrated, discouraged, and ready for change. But as we talked, it became clear that the real issue wasn’t just the employer—it was the absence of healthy boundaries.
In our industry, high performers are often the first to step in, stay late, cover gaps, and carry more than they should. Over time, that kind of overextension can lead to burnout, resentment, and turnover.
