Business Development Manager – Engineering and Structural Steel Detailing Company
Our client is a mid-sized full-service structural steel and HVAC engineering company that provides steel estimation, 3D-modeling, steel detailing and connection design projects for well-known steel fabricators in commercial and industrial segments worldwide.
The company’s management team seeks innovative growth strategies and tactics. They focus on delivering excellent, on-time project results, accuracy of designs and customer satisfaction.
Over the years, they have developed a strong offshore production center capable of delivering complex projects.
They are seeking an experienced business development manager to join their team. This is a growth opportunity for a candidate with strong B2B sales experience and the ability to generate and build on sales results.
Position:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new business. The candidate will have a strong network of contacts from within the steel fabrication industry and should be very confident of developing new customers and winning projects.
Ideal candidate:
Our client’s ideal candidate will be highly motivated to achieve growth and have broad experience in sales, product development, and new market development. They are looking for someone who enjoys new challenges and has learned to adapt quickly. Preferred experience includes roles such as regional sales manager, business development manager or sales territory manager for a steel warehouse, steel distributor, commercial steel construction company or steel fabrication company.
Responsibility:
• Generate new business in the areas of steel detailing, steel connection design and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Plan and prepare business presentations as required.
• Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow through to a successful agreement
• Develop and manage relationships with new clients.
• Work closely with the technical staff to meet customer expectations.
• Get timely feedback from customers and present this feedback to the technical staff.
• Be capable of flagging customer escalations in a timely manner to the management.
• Submit weekly progress reports.
• Some travel is required.
Experience:
• 5-10 years of experience in sales is needed
• Superior presentation and public speaking skills
• Thorough knowledge of structural steel fabrication
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Outstanding research and strategic analysis skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree
