Just looking for housing either an apartment or a room to rent. I have a client who is getting some help from NEMSCA but needs to find housing before they can fully help. My client is working and would prefer to stay in Roscommon because that is where they are working but can do Houghton Lake as a second option. Thanks in advance!

Community Update: A Safe Place Secured—Thanks to You!

I want to take a moment to thank the generous hearts in and outside our community who stepped up in just a few hours. Because of your kindness, the young adult I posted about—who recently faced homelessness—now has a secure place to stay for a week and two days.

She’s continuing her work toward her high school diploma and staying connected with coaching and job readiness. This temporary stability gives her the breathing room she needs to keep moving forward.

We’re still working with local resources and shelter programs to find a longer-term solution, but for now, she’s safe—and that’s because of you. Offers of help came from right here in Roscommon and even from downstate. Your compassion reached farther than we ever expected.

Community Help Needed: Temporary Housing for a Young Adult in Crisis

Hi friends,

I’m reaching out as a local job and life coach supporting a young adult client who became homeless yesterday. She’s working hard toward her high school diploma and is actively engaged in coaching and job readiness. She’s doing her part—she just needs a safe place to land.

We’re trying to secure a room for the next 48 hours while we wait to see if her name is called for shelter placement. We’ve already contacted local churches, St. Vincent’s, DHHS, NEMCSA, Oasis of Hope, and shelters from Roscommon to Midland and all the way to Big Rapids. Everyone has been kind, but no openings yet.

If you’re able to donate toward a short-term stay or know of a safe space available, please message me directly. Even small contributions help. She’s motivated and ready to work—this support could be the turning point she needs.

Rocky’s Adventure at the Golf Course! 🐾
Hey everyone! 👋 Our amazing therapy dog, Rocky, had quite the adventure today at the golf course! 🌞🏌️‍♂️
🌿 Sticks and New Friends: Rocky sprinted alongside the golf cart as it headed toward the trees to pick up sticks. His new friends cheered him on as he darted around, collecting sticks and even munching on a few! 🐕🌳
☀️ Sunshine and Smiles: It was a hot day out there, but Rocky didn’t mind. He made everyone smile with his boundless energy and wagging tail. 🌞😊
🏡 Home Sweet Home: When Rocky returned home, he was all tuckered out from his busy day. After barking with the rest of his pack, he found his favorite spot on the bed and promptly fell asleep. 😴🛏️

Woof-hoo! 🐾 Guess what, friends? I, Rocky, have just aced my AKC Therapy Dog requirements! That's right, I'm not just a good boy – I'm a certified one now!

To mark this pawsome milestone, I've been gifted the snazziest new vest. It's got my name and shiny new title emblazoned on it. Can't wait to strut around and flaunt my cool gear to all my two-legged and four-legged pals.

I'm wagging with joy and can barely sit still thinking about all the extra belly rubs and treats I'll get tonight. Sending out a big, joyful WOOF and a happy tail wag to each of you. Let's celebrate – it's going to be a treat-filled day! 🎉🦴
