SUMMARY - Edits, enters data and balances payroll-reporting forms from which a database of participant service credits and employer contribution history is established and used for pension benefit calculations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Review payroll reporting forms and identify issues related to missing information, plan eligibility, contribution rate changes, and significant receipting differences
-Enter employer and participant detail from payroll reporting forms into an online computer system
-Balance employers’ total figures for hours worked and wages earned with the participant detail
entered
-Verify data entered with hard copy, compare dollars received with dollars owed, and take action to resolve any discrepancies
-Research files on open issues, generate written correspondence or use the telephone for clarification of payroll reporting problems and take corrective action when replies are received
-Make corrections to employer and participant computer files to clear accounts receivable records
-Maintain files of information for assigned collection areas to assist in processing payroll reports
-Research correspondence files, payroll reports, microfilm, microfiche and system record to determine the correct information for employer and/or participant system files, i.e., Federal Identification Number or Social Security Number discrepancies
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
-Ability to learn new procedures and adapt to changes in procedures
-Ability to learn system screens used on a day to day basis
-Ability to read and comprehend memos, reports, technical manuals and form completion instructions
-Ability to communicate professional, politely, clearly and effectively both oral and written with participants, employers, coworkers and management
-Ability to read, comprehend and apply plan rules for employers and participants
-Ability to manage time and/or projects to meet deadlines and production goals
-Ability to work as a productive and supportive team member
-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Perform the four operations with like or common fractions and decimals. Compute ratios, rates, and percents. Perform arithmetic operations involving all American monetary units
-The ability to operate data entry equipment and electronic calculator with a high level of speed and accuracy or to achieve the clients standard skill level for operating this equipment within the probationary period
-Ability to gather information from several sources and apply that information to a decision making process
-Proficient in the use of a personal computer (especially in Windows, and other word processing and spreadsheet programs in Microsoft Office)
-Ability to sit for extended periods of time
-Ability to perform repetitive or short-cycle work
-Ability to work and concentrate in an open area with some noise
-Strong organizational skills with aptitude for detail work
-Ability to focus on details

-Interview Process; will begin with a pre-qualification call and then a couple of tests (such as typing speed, 10-key speed, Grammar, Alpha-Numeric Data Entry, etc). Once test results return you are sent over for official consideration. You will then be brought in for an onsite test and in-person interview. -Pay for first 6 months is 15/hr, after which time pay is 26/hr with union benefits
