For National Bunny Day, we’re sharing a special Tail of Flourishing from LUKE employee Nicole B., whose three bunnies (Luna, Milo, and Betty) bring a unique kind of comfort to her life.

Nicole describes their quiet presence as a source of calm and peace in her home. Caring for them also encourages her to slow down, stay present, and focus on something that brings genuine joy.

For those in high-stress roles, the pressures and responsibilities of service can make that especially difficult. Although we may not be able to remove every source of stress, we can be intentional about protecting our wellbeing along the way.

As artificial intelligence becomes a bigger part of how we work, learn, and live, an important question deserves our attention: Is the way we use it helping us flourish?

In an article published earlier this year, researchers Tyler VanderWeele and Jonathan Teubner explore both the tremendous potential of AI and the importance of preserving what makes us distinctly human, including our capacity to reason, create, build meaningful relationships, and find purpose and joy.

Their perspective offers an important consideration as AI continues to evolve: technology can be a powerful tool, but human flourishing should remain the goal.

Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced unimaginable loss. Today we remember the 2,977 lives taken on September 11, 2001, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the first responders and countless others who answered tragedy with extraordinary courage and service.

In the years since, September 11 has also become a National Day of Service and Remembrance, an invitation to honor those we lost through the way we care for one another.

Human flourishing is shaped not only by our individual wellbeing, but by the strength of our communities, the compassion we extend to others, and the purpose we find in serving something beyond ourselves.

Today, we remember, we honor those who served, and we reflect on the enduring power of courage, connection, compassion, and service.
