Skoolin Bass Angler Youth Club held their second event of the year last night on Big Green Lake. Fishing was pretty tough. Cold front coupled with dirty water from recent rains made it difficult to find fish. Seven anglers set out to catch their five bass limit and at the end of the night only one managed. Garrison Laviolette, Ripon, WI took home 1st place with five largemouth that weighed 12.45 lbs anchored by the big bass of the night a 3.32 lb largemouth. Taking home second place was Carson Mack, Ripon, WI. Carson caught a mixed bag of largemouth and smallmouth bass with three bass weighing 6.64 lbs. Rounding out the top three was Henry Willett, Ripon, WI with one bass weighing 2.98 lbs. Final tournament of the year will be on Fox Lake in Mid July. Our angler of the year standings are posted, with Garrison leading going in to the final event. Our last event on Fox Lake will be an MLF style catch and release as many bass as you can over 10 inches. Great job youth anglers!

Skoolin Bass Anglers Youth Club held their first tournament of the season on Lake Emily. Nine anglers fished the derby and brought in a total of twelve legal bass. Carson Mack, Ripon, WI took home the win with four bass that weighed 9.39 lbs. Jackson Loewe, Fond du Lac, WI took 2nd place with two bass weighing 5.95 lbs and rounding out the top three was Wesley Loewe, Omro, WI with three bass that weighed 4.86 lbs. Big bass honors went to Harrison Loewe, Omro, WI with a nice largemouth weighing 3.83 lbs. The next youth club tournament is on Monday June 6th on Big Green Lake.

Day two of the 2021 weekender was all about the young guns. Luke Rogers took home the gold with 14+ lbs. Cody Wiesmueller clutched some last minute largies to take home 2nd place and Zach Schulfer took big bass honors with a 4.88 smallie he wrestled out from under a dock. Brett Henning only caught 2 but he is still a happy camper just to be fishin!

Skoolin Bass Anglers had our annual weekender in Northern WI this past weekend fishing Lac du Flambeau chain on Saturday and Squirrel Lake on Sunday. We had perfect weather and the fish didn’t disappoint. Jason Loewe took home top honors with 17.93 lbs of smallmouth while little bro David snatched 2nd place and big bass honors with 16.19 lbs and a 4.51 smallie respectively. Skoolin Bass Youth Anglers club held their second bass tournament of the season on Big Green Lake last Monday evening. Thankfully the weather was nice and the lake cleared up a little. The eleven anglers caught a bunch of really nice bass. Seven of the eleven anglers brought a 5 bass limit to the weighin. Jackson Loewe, Fond du Lac, WI took 1st place with 5 bass that weighed 13.10 lbs anchored by the big bass of the tournament, a 4.37 lb smallmouth bass. Coming in second with a 5 bass limit weighing 12.56 lbs was Carson Mack, Ripon, WI. Rounding out the top three was Wesley Loewe, Omro, WI with 5 bass weighing 11.83 lbs. Wesley reported catching his fifth keeper on his very last cast. Congratulations to all the anglers on a great night of fishing.

Skoolin Bass Anglers held their second derby of the season on the Waupaca Chain of Lakes, Sunday May 24th. Weather was decent in the morning with a front that moved through dropping temperatures 20 degrees in the afternoon. Cody Wiesmueller from Ripon, WI got his first SBA title with 5 bass that weighed 10.37 lbs anchored by the big bass of the tournament, a 2.82 lb largemouth. Congratulations Cody! Awesome to see you get your first win. You have been knocking at the door for some time. Now we all gotta look out for you. Taking second place was Jason Loewe from Fond du Lac, WI with 5 bass that weighed 10.08 lbs. Kyle Moodie from Ripon, WI wrapped up third place with 5 bass that weighed 9.09 lbs. Seven of the eleven anglers brought in a limit of bass but the fish were running small. Lots of nice fish swimming around on the breaks, but they were very spooky. Next up is Big Green on June 6th.

Skoolin Bass Youth Anglers had their first club tournament of the year this past Monday on Little Green Lake, Markesan, WI. Twelve anglers from the club turned out to fish. The weather was in the 50's with light winds with temperatures dropping as the night went on. The boys fished hard from 5-8pm with about half the club reporting fish catches of bass, northern and Musky. Taking home first place was Max Huber, Ripon WI with three bass that weighed 8.61 pounds. This was pretty impressive considering no other angler caught more than one bass. Taking second place and winning big bass honors for the night was Jackson Loewe, Fond du Lac, WI with one nice largemouth that weighed 4.95 pounds. Rounding out the top three was Louden Hoxie, Ripon, WI with one bass that weighed 3.01 pounds. Congratulations to the top three and we look forward to another great fishing tournament on Big Green Lake, Monday June 14th.
