DON’T WING OPPORTUNITIES YOU’VE WORKED HARD TO EARN.

Interview preparation is a lot like following a recipe.

You can absolutely skip a few steps, ignore the instructions, and hope for the best.

But don’t be surprised if the end result isn’t what you wanted.

The strongest candidates don’t attend interviews hoping inspiration strikes. They prepare. They research the company, review the job description, reflect on their accomplishments, and think through examples that demonstrate their impact.

Confidence isn't usually a secret ingredient.

The secret ingredient is YOU. Without preparation you’re doing yourself an injustice and wasting your own time.

There’s no time for small time. Do the work and prep!

Before your next interview, spend 30 minutes gathering your ingredients:
💫 Research the company
💫 Review the role
💫 Prepare STAR examples
💫 Bring thoughtful questions

Preparation doesn’t guarantee an offer.
But showing up unprepared is a recipe for missed opportunity.

🦸🏻‍♀️ The STAR METHOD for behavioral interview questions isn’t just for Tech. It’s a method that can help you answer questions fully and thoughtfully.

👉25 HR Leaders, Recruiters & People Experts Worth Following Now👇👇

To be recognized alongside those I consider to embody excellence and who continue to inspire and sharpen me is a testament to the power of purpose-driven work. I do not take this lightly.

Nothing makes me laugh to myself quite like going to the doctor before work and realizing recruiting might be the only profession equally obsessed with metrics.

Honestly? We’re all just out here trying to keep ALL of our numbers healthy.

But there’s something deeply personal and weirdly motivating about working in a field where data and people collide every single day. Behind every metric is a conversation, a career change, a new opportunity, or someone finally landing the role they’ve been hoping for. It’s my honor to play my part in these moments and often times… life changing chapters for people.

Recruiting may run on cloud-based systems (and for some…. on spreadsheets) but the best parts of it, if you ask me, still can’t be measured.

International Women’s Day always makes me pause for a moment.

Not because the world suddenly figured out equity for 24-hours (we’re definitely not there yet), but because it’s a reminder of the women who showed me what was possible long before I knew for myself.

The women who pulled up a chair.
The women who told the truth in rooms where it wasn’t always welcome.
The women who said, “You belong here,” when the world suggested otherwise.

And the women who keep showing up today...
building companies, raising families, mentoring the next generation, quietly, and loudly refusing to shrink.

Progress doesn’t happen in big fantastical sweeping moments.
It happens in the everyday acts of support, advocacy, and courage women extend to each other.

So today I’m celebrating the women who go first…
and the ones who make damn sure the door stays open behind them.

Happy International Women’s Day. 💜🦸🏻‍♀️💫

Layoffs don’t destroy your employer brand. How you handle them does.

𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐬 “𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞-𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭”… 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝.
💫 No transition support.
💫 No guidance.
💫 No dignity.

And then... leadership wonders why trust collapses internally afterwards. 🤷‍♀️

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠:
💫Employees don’t expect you to avoid hard decisions.
💫They expect you to lead through them.
💫Because the market has a long memory.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲?
Could be the revenue-driving hire you desperately need tomorrow.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫?
They’re telling your culture story — whether you like it or not.

Outplacement is not a soft perk.
It is a power move. It signals stability. Credibility. Leadership maturity and competence.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬:
💫Separation is a brand moment.
💫Compassion is a business strategy.
💫And silence is reputational risk.

This is why forward-thinking organizations bring in recruitingSHEro Solutions!

Turn your difficult transitions into leadership moments... protecting your culture, your reputation, and your ability to attract future hires long after the restructure ends.

Because real leadership doesn’t disappear in disruption.

It becomes unmistakable.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠:
When the market talks about how you handled your layoffs… what will they say?

We've witnessed a range of labor market shifts over the years, each with its own unique label: "A Worker's Market," "Labor Shortage," "Covid Recession," "The Great Resignation," "Hybrid Creep," "Cooling Labor," "The Big Stay," "Low Fire, Low Hire," "Gig Economy," and "Bruising/Softening". These terms reflect the "interesting" nature of the labor landscape at the specific time.

Currently, there seems to be uncertainty about what to call today's labor market in the U.S. and I propose we refer to it as The Great (Career) Fog. The Great Fog encapsulates the confusion and complexity that often characterize a labor market that feels increasingly senseless.

I wrote a blog post about this fog for job seekers and would appreciate your readership and engagement:
