Work for Warriors Nevada is a DoD-funded program providing free employment assistance to Nevada Veterans, National Guard members, Reservists, and eligible military families. Work for Warriors NV, is designed to help Service Members, Veterans and their Immediate Families with career services. We assist in the process from start to finish to gain employment that is on track with your career goals. Resume writing, State employment profiles, interview prep, mock interviews, and application assistance to enhance your career options. All of our services are free to Service Members, their dependent family members, and Veterans! Two locations in Las Vegas and one Reno but serve all areas in Nevada with online appointments.

The event will bring together Army Reserve leaders, employers, education and training organizations, resource providers, service members, Veterans, and military families to connect and learn more about employment, training, and support resources.

Work for Warriors Nevada will be on-site providing employment assistance to eligible Veterans, National Guard members, Reservists, and military family members. Our team can assist with:

Nation’s Finest and community partners will be holding an Appreciation Picnic & Food Distribution during Blue Star Families Welcome Week.

📍 Battle Born Harley-Davidson

🍽️ Community Picnic: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📦 Food Distribution: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The event is open to the public and is an opportunity for the community to show its appreciation for military members and their families. Lunch will be provided at no cost for active military members and Veterans, plus one guest. Food will also be available for purchase for other community members attending.

There will also be music, community activities, and a presentation from Nation’s Finest about the work they do supporting Veterans.

Washoe County is recruiting for a full-time Maintenance Worker – Roads with the Community Services Department in Reno.

🔹 $54,787.20–$71,240 annually
🔹 One year of experience performing basic road maintenance or construction work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
🔹 Valid driver’s license required at appointment
🔹 Class A CDL with tank endorsement must be obtained within six months of appointment
🔹 County-paid health and retirement benefits are included in the total compensation package

Work for Warriors Nevada welcomed Nevada National Guard members, Veterans, and military families to our Career & Resource Fair at the Plumb Lane Armory in Reno.

Attendees had the opportunity to connect face-to-face with 20 employers and 7 resource organizations, explore employment opportunities, and learn more about resources available throughout Northern Nevada.

Thank you to all of the employers and community partners who came out to connect with and support our military community, and to everyone who attended and spent the day networking and making new connections.

A special thank you to the Nevada National Guard and J9 for their support of the event, including the Slater's Ding a Wing Truck—which was definitely a crowd favorite!
