🎉A great Raytown School year starts with great people ready to step in and support our students! 💙

Today, we welcomed a fantastic group of substitutes for our annual Substitute Training. Attendees received a warm welcome from our Chief Executive Business Officer, Dr. Carl Calcara, heard an engaging presentation from 🌟 Fleetridge Elementary's principal, Mrs. Glasco, and participated in a thoughtful question-and-answer session as they prepare to support our schools throughout the year. Assistant Director of Human Resources, Dr. Michelle Blakley, closed it out with encouraging words to continue empowering our incredible substitutes.

Our substitutes play an important role across RQS. Each time they enter one of our buildings, they bring flexibility, commitment and a willingness to help keep learning moving forward—and today’s turnout was a wonderful reflection of that dedication.

We are proud to celebrate Raytown South High School Social Studies teacher Angela Lea on being selected for the prestigious Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Foundation (ABMF) Educator Fellowship.

Mrs. Lea participated in an intensive professional learning experience focused on Holocaust education, historical preservation, and the power of remembrance while traveling throughout Poland.

Thank you for your commitment to ensuring history is remembered and its lessons continue to inspire future generations. What a great way to spend the summer!
