RICHMOND:
During the remainder of October 2026 and into November 2026, the Economic Development Commission of Richmond, Rhode Island is providing a survey to all residents and businesses in Richmond. This survey is to obtain a data set and crucial insights as to our residents' interest in either starting a business or expanding an existing business, in Richmond.
Attached directly below are links to those surveys, which we are sending to all of you who currently serve as an elected official or as a candidate for elected office in Richmond, in advance of postal distribution or social media posting for your consideration and, if you wish - and is our hope - your completion.

While most of you are yourselves residents of Richmond and would receive the survey in the next few weeks in postal mail, the EDC asserts that your completing this survey ahead of the routine postal distribution is an effective way for you to see what the EDC has as its focus and considers to be absolutely vital to the economic success of our town: small-business creation by independent entrepreneurs. This view is not original to the EDC: entrepreneurship and private industry are the fundamental elements of economic and democratic success in the vast literature of classical liberal economic theory.
Alternatively, you can print, complete by hand, and mail to the EDC the PDF's attached to this email. In that case, please send your survey to the EDC, care of Richmond Town Hall, 5 Richmond Townhouse Road, Wyoming, RI 02898.
As well, QR codes are provided in case you wish to complete the survey on a mobile device:

Finally, in the event that you would like to complete the survey from the page of the Economic Development Commission, you will find these survey links posted to our EDC Facebook page as well.
As you are now, or perhapa will be our elected leaders, we encourage you to share your perspectives on economic development and business in Richmond via whatever means you deem best and most effective. Indeed, feel free to copy and paste the links to whatever social media or email distribution list you find helpful to your own efforts to identify and analyze the economic conditions of our town, at a truly granular level.
The EDC appreciates your time and effort, and we thank you in advance for completing this survey which will help form the backbone of EDC policy recommendations in the very near future, and perhaps either substantiate or weaken the policy recommendations already made by the EDC.
Very Respectfully Yours,
Gary
