Big thanks to Linda and Heather from Fulton Bank, along with Jason from the PA Department of Corrections, for spending part of their Day of Caring helping our students sharpen their interview skills today.

As part of the Schuylkill United Way’s Day of Caring, we hosted a mock interview event that gave students the chance to practice answering questions, build confidence, and get real feedback from professionals in the community.

We appreciate everyone who continues to support the next generation by showing up, sharing advice, and investing their time where it matters most.

A big thank you to Johnson College, Mrs Ts Pierogies, Tobash Insurance Agency, and Wegmans for taking part in today’s YES mock interview event!

Experiences like these give students the opportunity to sharpen their communication skills, build confidence, and get a feel for what real interviews are like before entering the workforce. The advice, encouragement, and feedback shared by our volunteers continues to make a meaningful impact on the next generation.

We truly appreciate our business and community partners for helping students take another step toward becoming career ready.

Thank you to Mid Penn Bank for once again hosting their popular piggy bank giveaway at this year’s Schuylkill County Career Fair. Congratulations to Ryan McKinney from DHH Lengel Middle School, who came incredibly close with a guess of $192.85. The actual amount in the bank was $192.25!

Pictured from left to right are Karen Kenderdine, Ryan McKinney, and Mark Ketch.

Thank you again to Mid Penn Bank for helping make the event even more memorable for the students.

Registration is now open for the 2026 YES Recognition Breakfast.

We’re proud to celebrate a group of students who are ready for what comes next.

The YES (Your Employability Skills) Program prepares students with the skills employers are looking for through real-world experiences like mock interviews, business tours, and hands-on training.

At this event, we’ll recognize students who have completed 120 hours of training, passed key assessments, maintained strong attendance, and demonstrated they are prepared for the workforce.

This breakfast is free for students and teachers, made possible through the support of the business community. Sponsorships help offset the cost and allow us to continue investing in the next generation.

Join us on May 14, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Hall.

Huge thank you to everyone who made this year’s Schuylkill County Career Fair such a success.

We were proud to welcome 1,100 students from 15 schools, giving them the opportunity to explore career paths, ask questions, and start thinking seriously about their futures. That kind of turnout doesn’t happen by accident. It takes a strong community showing up in a big way.

To our 60 vendors representing a wide range of industries, thank you for taking the time to invest in the next generation. The conversations you had, the advice you shared, and the connections you made truly matter more than you might realize in the moment.

To our sponsors, your support continues to elevate this event and allows us to create meaningful experiences for students across the region. We simply couldn’t do it at this level without you. Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association, PA CareerLink Schuylkill County, Wegmans, Subway, van Hoekelen Greenhouses, Hexcel.

And a special thank you to the Martz Hall staff for keeping everything running smoothly from start to finish. Your professionalism and attention to detail made a fast-paced morning feel seamless. Pottsville Area School District

It’s always encouraging to see education and industry come together like this. The future workforce got a little clearer today because of all of you.

We had a great day at Minersville working with our YES students during today’s mock interview event.

A sincere thank you to Mrs. Gigli for preparing her students and creating an environment where they could step outside their comfort zones and grow. The effort she puts in shows.

We’re especially grateful to the professionals who took time out of their day to invest in the next generation. Your insight, encouragement, and honest feedback made a real impact.
