From the classroom to the Capitol, Manufacturing Day 2026 showcased the strength, innovation, and opportunity of Pennsylvania manufacturing.

Through the YES Program, students from Gillingham Charter toured Cardinal Systems, while Blue Mountain High School students visited Hydro in Cressona, giving them a firsthand look at modern manufacturing and the careers available right here in Pennsylvania.

At the same time, the Northeast PA Manufacturers & Employers Association brought manufacturers and legislators together for its Legislative Roundtable, recognizing local industry and discussing the issues affecting Pennsylvania employers.

And in Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association hosted Manufacturing Day at the State Capitol, bringing legislators, manufacturers, and industry leaders together to celebrate the people and companies driving Pennsylvania manufacturing forward.

A great day connecting students, employers, industry leaders, and policymakers around one of Pennsylvania’s most important industries.

We were proud to see YES graduate Jocelyn Whitecavage share her story at the Schuylkill United Way's 2027 Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast.

As one of the event’s keynote speakers, Jocelyn spoke about her experience in the YES Program and the impact it had on preparing her for life after high school.

Thank you to the Schuylkill United Way for giving Jocelyn the opportunity to share her story and for continuing to support programs that make a difference throughout Schuylkill County.

🎓 YES Alumni Highlight: Seth Hubler

Seth, a 2019 graduate of Minersville Area and the Minersville YES Program, now serves as Communications Director for the office of Senator David G. Argall (R-29) in the Pennsylvania State Senate.

What comes next after high school?

We asked 210 YES students about their plans for college, work, training, career interests, and where they hope to build their futures.

The results show strong interest in postsecondary education, immediate workforce entry, healthcare, skilled trades, business, and social services. They also reveal an encouraging trend: YES students reported slightly stronger local and Pennsylvania retention intentions than available youth benchmarks.

These findings help us better understand what students want, where opportunities exist, and how employers, educators, and community partners can support the next generation of our regional workforce.
