It’s not just a clever name or catchy phrase either, the name actually means something.
You see, “P-A-L” are my initials, so it’s our personal touch and commitment to helping and serving the service contracting industry that drives us in everything we do and create.
What We Do
We help Service Contractors grow their team and their business. Years ago, I was working for an industry specific training and consulting company, traveling all across North America putting on workshops, training seminars, and performing ride along coaching services with companies and technicians in the field.
I learned a lot from Service Contractors about their specific challenges and what it took for them to grow their business. One key challenge I picked up on was Recruitment. Most Service Contractors, even the most successful, struggled to find and attract candidates to come work with them so they could take on new customers and further grow their business operations.
I dove in on this challenge further and found while there is a definite shortage in Skilled Trades talent (ever heard of the skills gap, yeah it’s real) there was also a major disconnect in how Contractors were reaching out to communicate with candidates and how candidates wanted to be communicated with.
I also realized that with the economy booming, unemployment rates were falling through the floor. In most areas less than 2% of Skilled Tradesmen were unemployed while demand for their services had skyrocketed.
Simply put, these people were in short supply, high demand and they were NOT actively looking for work opportunities. So, traditional Recruitment methods utilizing Job Boards were becoming increasingly ineffective.
We looked at every resource available on the market and identified why they weren’t working:
Job Boards weren’t working because there was such a low volume of people looking for work
Head Hunters weren’t working because they ended up recycling expired leads or sharing active leads across sometimes dozens of competitors
Staffing Agencies weren’t working because they brought in a lot of inexperienced, low quality and unqualified candidates
We needed to develop a new strategy, a new resource and a new process.
So we did.
We built a data-driven advertising program specifically for Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical and other Skilled Trades Service Contractors to help them pinpoint target and reach high quality candidates with their job offer, all across social media and the internet, regardless of whether they’re currently looking for work or actively working.
We applied today’s best practices in digital advertising and marketing to reach all new candidates, attract them to the company, and get them to apply!
And, it worked!
So well in fact we created a whole new problem, too many applicants!
So, we integrated a completed automated online application process that gathers information on each candidate, pre-screening them to ensure our clients only receive pre-qualified applicant leads.
And thus, BizPAL’s Recruitment Marketing System was born!
