What brings them together as a team is their love of country, community and their commitment to America. Guard members train to be ready to serve whenever their country or community needs them. At a minimum, they train one weekend a month and 2 weeks a year. It means they have penalty of time for family and friends. They can go to college or pursue a career full time. They live their lives as civi
lians, but are part-time in the National Guard, but they take their commitment seriously. Members of the national guard study at US Army Technical Schools and practice in the same tactics as soldiers in the US Army. Guard members are always ready. Engineers, accountants, secretaries and teachers can be in their guard uniforms on their way to protect our nation and its interests as part of Americas total force. Today the Army Guard, makes up more than half of the Armies combat power. As well as more than one third of combat support in combat service structure. Proof that citizen soldiers are more important than ever.
