If you receive social security benefits and are an employee of MAG, you must still report monthly to Social Security the wages you receive. This information can be found on your check stub you receive with your pay check each pay period. We report wages to Social Security each month, but they haven’t been recording that information on your records.

MAG Sheltered Workshop will be closed Thursday, July 2nd in honor of Independence Day. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday weekend.

MAG held a celebration on Thursday afternoon commemorating 60 years of service of the sheltered workshop being in operation. MAG was incorporated on June 21, 1966. The sheltered workshop provides employment to adults who live in Butler County and have mental disabilities. We are very proud to run one of the best shops in the state. This is done by a cooperative effort of employees, staff, and board members. If you are, or ever have been, a board member, employee or staff member we thank you for your help to shape MAG into a wonderful place to work.

Safety is very important to us here at MAG. Mary Peters, Production Manager is shown providing annual training to all employees. Employees received training in Hazardous Communications, Lock out/tag out and Safety Rules today.

We have an immediate opening for a full time supervisor. The person who is chosen for this position will work directly with individuals with cognitive disorders in a sheltered workshop setting. Individual will need to possess at least a Class E drivers license. (Class F drivers may apply and obtain a Class E). Driving record must be clean. Starting pay is $18/hour or more with experience. Health insurance, dental, vision and life insurance coverage fully paid by the facility for the employee. Benefits include paid vacation, personal and sick time and matching 401k plan. Day time hours 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Thursday. Applications may be made at the facility located at 3080 Cravens Road. February 5, 2026 marks the 45th work anniversary for Mr. Jeff Arnold. Jeff started at MAG as a supervisor. He also served as Assistant Manager for several years before being appointed as the Managing Director in July of 2000. Under his leadership, MAG has grown and continues to flourish as a quality meaningful employer of people with disabilities providing them with an opportunity to be productive members of the work community in Poplar Bluff. We are thankful for his dedication to the sheltered workshop and glad he is a part of our management team. Congratulations on 45 years!
