People are innately creative. But corporations on a daily basis stifle that creativity. "We can't do that, it's corporate policy." Corporate policies are just one roadblock to the creativity process. A corporate culture that forces conformity does more to limit growth than anything else. Yep, maybe there are less internal conflicts when everyone is a Dilbert clone. But the opportunity for new products, new markets, new processes, new solutions to problems becomes nonexistent when we reward conformity rather than encourage debate, dialogue, and discussions devoid of condemnation and threats of retaliation.
