On a cold winter morning outside the Buerger Center, Security Officer Joseph Tyler responded to a call about someone in need of assistance. When he found an unhoused man barefoot and struggling in the freezing weather, Joseph didn't hesitate. He retrieved an extra pair of sneakers he had packed for the gym, helped the man put on socks and shoes, tied his laces, and helped him back to his feet.
The moment was witnessed by Sarah Wolf, Manager of Utilization Management and Clinical Appeals, who was moved by Joseph's compassion. She later sought him out to thank him, recognizing the kindness and dignity he showed to someone in need.
While Joseph insists that anyone on his team would have done the same, his actions serve as a powerful reminder that the ICARE values are often reflected in simple acts of humanity that make a lasting impact. 💙
