You may not feel like you’re discarding many batteries these days, but lithium-ion batteries are in more places than you think! Often tucked inside e-cigarettes and vapes, kids’ toys, and power tools, these batteries—no matter how large or small—can spark fires, threaten our drivers, and harm the environment if they’re not discarded properly.

This , learn how to safely dispose of your batteries at recology.com/batterysafety.

Working hand in hand with our amazing customers and communities, Recology supported the recovery of over 1.3 million tons of recyclable and compostable materials in 2022 alone.

By diverting materials from landfills and keeping them in circulation, we ensure they can be recycled into new products or delivered back to the earth – conserving energy, avoiding greenhouse gas emissions, and preserving natural resources. This is the circular economy in action!

While some plastics are infeasible or impractical to recycle, a significant percentage of high-quality plastics placed in Recology's recycling bins do get recycled. In 2022, Recology recovered 15,817 tons of plastic - the weight of four Seattle Space Needles.

Together with our customers, jurisdictions, and recycling partners, Recology is committed to improving plastic recycling rates across our operations. If you are unsure of what to put in your recycling bin, be sure to check WhatBin.com or contact your local Recology or local jurisdiction – we’re here to help!
