What a great time it was to join together with about 200 Union members, Workers, and Community Supporters as we were celebrating workers in our region and remembering the advances the Labor Movement has achieved for working families!

Those advances like the 40 Hour Work Week, Overtime Standards, Safety Standards, Restrictions on Child Labor, Employer Sponsored Retirement and Healthcare and so many others did not come on their own. Workers organized together some even gave their lives to gain those things for us.

Let us never forget the sacrifices of those workers and continue those advances each day!

Solidarity Forever!

A breeze carried the smell of barbecue through the air during lunchtime Monday as the Owensboro Central Labor Council held its nearly four-decade-old picnic at Ben Hawes Park.

Happy Labor Day!

Workers built America and Organized Labor Built the Middle Class!

Today is a day not only to celebrate our current workers, but to remember the hard work, dedication and sacrifice of those who come before us!

The 40 hour work week, weekends, safety standards, restrictions on child labor, employer sponsored healthcare and holidays, none of these became normal without workers organizing around fair standards!

On this Labor Day let's honor those before us by standing in solidarity and making sure our representatives put working people at the forefront.
