The Sharks were visited by the 2nd Recruiting Brigade Commander, COL Rankin, last Friday. He presented SFC Riley with the ‘Morell Medallion’ for his his hard work while here in Daytona Company. SFC Sanford received the coveted ‘Recruiter Ring’ for his long longstanding success within USAREC. Lastly, he presented SSG Nievez and SFC Hernandez with a BDE Coin for exceeding mission requirements for FY23! Thank you to COL Rankin for taking the time to recognize these hard working soldiers for everything they do.

As a Signal Support Specialist (25U) and Army recruiter in the Army for the past 10 years, SGT Pough has had the opportunity to experience a diverse and fulfilling career. As a Signal Support Specialist, his role involved providing crucial communications support to military operations. This included setting up and maintaining communication networks, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring seamless connectivity in various environments. Additionally, his experience as an Army recruiter has allowed him to travel extensively. He has had the privilege of being stationed in different parts of the world and numerous states with the United States. He is currently serving in a Station Commander role at our Palatka Recruiting Station.
 
(Why did you join and why do you continue to serve?)
“I enlisted in the Army with the goal of building a career that would provide for my family’s needs. However, my commitment to serving goes beyond personal aspirations. I continue to dedicate myself to this honorable profession because I believe in something greater than myself.”

Posting on Tuesday this week but moving forward each Monday we will be highlighting one our recruiters amazing careers and what The Army has allowed them to do!

               SSG Allen joined The Army in 2013 at 19 years old. He was mowing lawns with his Dad in the Florida heat for less than $100 a week, and decided to be a part of something great. He enlisted as a 19K M1 Abrams Armor Crewman, and says it has been the greatest experience of his life. He has been stationed in Fort Irwin, CA where he did 33 “Rotations” as opposing forces for The National Training Center, Fort Stewart, GA where he went on a 9-month trip to South Korea, and he just left Fort Moore, GA to come to Recruiting in Daytona Beach.
 
(Why did you join and why do you continue to serve?)
 “I joined because I had a call to service and The US Army was the best way for me to fulfill that. I continue to serve because the amount of pride I feel each day being capable to defend this country, and the joy I get from helping young people start their lives in a better place makes it the best job in the world.” -SSG Allen
