Last week, our High School Career Express students gained firsthand exposure to different industries through visits to local employers.

Publix: Explored retail careers, gained hands-on cashier experience, and learned about employee development opportunities.

Electronic Arts (EA): Discovered career pathways in gaming and gained behind-the-scenes insight into game development.

CI Group: Explored furniture design through an interactive facility tour and scavenger hunt.

Entertainment Technology Partners: Learned about live event production, lighting, sound technology, and warehouse operations.

These experiences help students explore their interests, connect with industry professionals, and make informed decisions about their future careers.

Thank you to the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners for recognizing the importance of workforce development and the role it plays in building a stronger local economy.

Through our partnership with Seminole County, workforce and business development initiatives assisted 12 new business start-ups, provided more than 1,000 hours of business consulting and helped businesses secure more than $14.8 million in government contracts during the last fiscal year.

Our work with Seminole County helps strengthen the local business community, expand economic opportunities and connect residents with the skills and resources they need to pursue meaningful careers.

Opening doors to future STEM careers starts with experiences like these.

CareerSource Central Florida recently hosted a STEM Career Exploration event, giving participants the opportunity to discover career pathways in science, technology, engineering, and math while gaining valuable exposure to opportunities in these growing fields.

High School Career Express is back for Fall 2026!

Students from Edgewater, Apopka, Horizon, and Jones high schools kicked off the fall program with a guided visit to Associated Builders and Contractors of Central Florida, where they explored the many career opportunities available throughout the construction industry.

From project management and construction consulting to skilled trades, students got a firsthand look at how diverse the industry can be. Through hands-on stations, they practiced CPR training, learned about electrical work and personal protective equipment (PPE), operated excavator simulators, and explored how materials like water, sand, and rock contribute to cement production.

Students also learned about paid apprenticeship pathways that allow individuals to earn while they learn and build valuable skills for their future careers.

Thank you to Associated Builders and Contractors of Central Florida for hosting our students, and to our sponsors HCA Healthcare and Truist, along with Orange County Government, Orange Technical College, and Orange County Public Schools, for helping make High School Career Express possible.
