¡Feliz Día del Padre a todos los papás de la Marina! ⚓️❤️

Una de las preguntas que más me hacen es: “¿Todavía puedes ver a tu familia cuando te unes a la Marina?”

La respuesta es sí.

Aunque cada trayectoria es diferente, yo he sido increíblemente afortunada. Durante mis seis años en la Marina, he estado destinada cerca de mi familia y ahora tengo la oportunidad de servir en mi ciudad natal, viviendo a solo cinco minutos de mi papá.

Muchas personas asumen que unirse a las Fuerzas Armadas significa estar lejos de casa para siempre, pero tienes más influencia sobre tu trayectoria profesional de lo que muchos imaginan. Si tu meta es viajar por el mundo, la Marina definitivamente puede darte esa oportunidad. Pero si tu meta es construir una carrera, servir a tu país y al mismo tiempo mantenerte cerca de tu familia, también existen caminos para lograrlo.

Puede requerir tiempo, flexibilidad y paciencia, pero yo lo he logrado, ¡y tú también puedes hacerlo!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Navy dads out there. ⚓️❤️

One of the questions I get asked the most is, “Can you still see your family when you join the Navy?”

The answer is yes.

While every career path is different, I’ve been incredibly fortunate. Throughout my six years in the Navy, I’ve been stationed close to my family, and now I’m serving in my hometown, living just five minutes away from my dad.

People often assume that joining the military means being far away from home forever, but you have more say in your career path than many realize. If your goal is to travel the world, the Navy can absolutely give you that opportunity. But if your goal is to build a career, serve your country, and still stay connected to your family, there are ways to make that happen too.

It may take time, flexibility, and patience, but I’ve made it work so you can too!

Happy Father’s Day, Dad. Thanks for always showing up when I need you.

Vengo de una familia inmigrante. Llegamos a este país desde cuando yo tenía apenas 5 años, buscando oportunidades y un mejor futuro.🇺🇸

Cuando a los 25 años le dije a mi familia que iba a enlistarme en la Marina de los Estados Unidos, quedaron en shock. No era el camino que imaginaban para mí, y había muchas dudas e incertidumbre.

Hoy, seis años después, todos coinciden en que fue una de las mejores decisiones que pude haber tomado.

La Marina me dio oportunidades que jamás imaginé: crecimiento profesional, estabilidad, educación, experiencias alrededor del mundo y la posibilidad de construir una vida mejor para mi hijo y para mí.

Más que agradecida por todo lo que he logrado, mi familia y yo estamos profundamente agradecidos por las puertas que la Marina abrió en nuestras vidas. 🇺🇸⚓️

A veces, la decisión que más asusta es la que termina cambiándolo todo para bien 🙏🇺🇸⚓️

6 year Navy anniversary 🤍

The last 6 years have had ups and downs, but one thing has been consistent: the Navy has taken care of me!👏👏👏

The Navy gave me an Air Traffic Control FAA certification and 3 commands where I worked alongside some of the best controllers in the fleet!

Then the Navy gave me stability when I went through personal struggles of divorce and single motherhood. Allowing me to take care of myself and my child while continuously getting paid! 💵

Later, the Navy gave me the opportunity to earn a Master’s Degree (FOR FREE) from one of the best law schools in Florida Florida State University ! All while being an active duty sailor!🇺🇸🫡⚓️ 🎓

And my personal favorite, the Navy introduced me to the Chapel Corps, which brought me to finding Jesus Christ ✝️ The Chaplains and RPs showed me so much support during the hard times and allowed me to find Jesus on my own terms, no pressure, just letting the Lord’s work be done 🙏

And now the Navy has given the opportunity to bring the benefits that changed my life to others in the area as a Navy Recruiter!🤍🇺🇸

And last but not least, all of the people I have met across 4 commands, 2 states, various committees, and 6 years. I am so grateful for the friends made along the way ❤️

I never would have thought I would be where I am today and accomplished half the things I have if it were not for the U.S. Navy 🇺🇸🙌

I am so grateful for the last 6 years and looking forward to the rest of my 20!😉🇺🇸⚓️🤍🙌
