Happy Couples Appreciation Day to my wife !!
This life hasn’t always been easy, and you’ve felt every bit of it right alongside me. From North Carolina to California then Kansas and now getting ready to head back to North Carolina where it all began! You’ve handled every move, every change, EVERYTHING without ever folding. This last years of recruiting duty especially wasn’t light, but you held it down in a way that doesn’t go unnoticed.
Through all of it, you’ve been solid. No matter where we go, I know I’m good as long as I’ve got you.

Now that I have your attention!!
Earning the title doesn’t start at basic training, it starts long before that.
The journey begins with the ASVAB, where discipline, focus, and preparation separate those who want it from those who earn it. It’s not just a test, it’s a challenge of how bad you really want your future.
Then comes MEPS… where everything is examined; your physical, your medical history, and your attention to detail. It’s not easy, and it’s not supposed to be. Every step is designed to ensure only the qualified move forward.
Some get discouraged. Some fall short. But the ones who make it through? They prove something to themselves before they ever put on the uniform.
This process isn’t about being perfect! It’s about being prepared, resilient, and committed.
If it were easy, everyone would do it.

⚔️Iron Sharpens Iron🔥
This week our Delayed Entry Program (DEP) poolees stepped up for an Initial Strength Test (IST) for some healthy competition vs. RSS Gladstone and RSS St. Joseph, but it was more than just numbers on a scorecard!!
It was about pushing past limits, refusing to quit, and proving to one another that they’re capable of more.
Every pull-up, every crunch, and every mile ran was fueled by something bigger: camaraderie, accountability, and the drive to be better than yesterday. When one poolee started to struggle, another was there pushing him forward.
This is where future Marines start to understand that success isn’t achieved alone. It’s earned together through discipline, competition, and the will to never fall behind your team.
The standard is high. The work is hard.
But the mission remains the same: prepare, improve, and earn the title of United States Marine!! 🦅🌎⚓️
