I’ve been the House Manager.

I’ve managed House Managers.

And now I have my own House Manager.

That gives me a perspective most people don’t have.

I know what it’s like to be the person keeping a household running behind the scenes.

I know what employers need because I’ve hired, trained, and managed House Managers.

And I know what it’s like to be the busy professional who finally decided to get help and experience the difference firsthand.

I’ve seen what works.
I’ve seen what doesn’t.
I’ve seen the mistakes that cost time, money, and frustration.

That’s why I’m passionate about helping families hire the right support and helping House Managers succeed in their roles.

This isn’t something I learned from a book or a certification.

I’ve lived it from every angle.

And one thing I know for sure:

A great House Manager doesn’t just organize your home—they give you back your time, your energy, and your peace of mind.

If you’ve ever wondered whether a House Manager could change your life, the answer is probably yes.

What’s one household task you wish you could permanently take off your plate? 👇

It sounds small, but it’s one of those things that makes a huge difference.

I don’t have to coordinate with the lawn service.

I don’t have to answer texts from the handyman.

I don’t have to figure out when the pest control company is coming.

I don’t have to follow up with the pool company.

I don’t have to stop what I’m doing every time a vendor has a question.

My House Manager handles it.

And while each conversation only takes a few minutes, those interruptions add up. They pull me away from work, family time, and whatever I was actually trying to focus on.

People think hiring help is about getting more done.

For me, it’s about protecting my attention.

Because the best part isn’t that the lawn gets mowed.

It’s that I never had to think about it.

Have you ever added up how many times a week you’re interrupted by vendors, deliveries, repairs, and household logistics? 👇

Today my house manager waited on hold with AT&T, handled a prescription pickup, and took care of a few small errands.

None of those tasks are difficult.

They’re just time-consuming.

In about 90 minutes, she completed tasks that would have interrupted my entire day.

If my time is worth $100/hour, that’s $150 worth of time returned to me.

If my time is worth $250/hour, that’s $375.

The biggest benefit of a house manager isn’t that your to-do list gets done.

It’s that you get your time back.

And time is the one thing you can never make more of.

How much is an hour of your time worth

One of the biggest surprises about having a House Manager?

I spend less money.

Before I had help, I’d run to Target for one thing and leave with $187 worth of things I didn’t need.

I’d wander Sephora because I was already out running errands.

I’d make random trips to the mall because I needed to return one item.

Now?

My House Manager handles the returns, exchanges, errands, and pickups.

That means fewer impulse purchases, fewer “while I’m here” shopping trips, and less money wasted on things that weren’t actually on my list.

People think hiring help is an expense.

For many families, it’s actually a money-saving decision.

Less stress.
Less time spent shopping.
Less unnecessary spending.

And that’s before you even factor in the time you get back.

Question: What’s the store that gets you every time you walk in? 👇

Here’s my hot take:

We spend way too much time debating titles.

Personal Assistant.
House Manager.
Mother’s Helper.
Family Assistant.

Call it whatever you want.

If someone is helping take things off your plate, giving you back time, reducing stress, and making your life easier, that’s what matters.

The goal isn’t finding the perfect title.

The goal is creating a life where you’re not carrying everything by yourself.

Because no one gets an award for doing it all alone.

The right help can give you back hours every week, more patience with your family, and the mental space to focus on what matters most.

Stop worrying about what to call it.

Start thinking about how much better life could feel with support.

You know what makes a hard day even harder?

Coming home to dishes, returns, groceries, laundry, schedule chaos, and 14 unfinished tasks waiting for you.

A House Manager doesn’t just “help around the house.”

They protect your peace on the days you have nothing left to give.

While you’re dealing with work stress, sick kids, overwhelm, exhaustion, or life simply life-ing… they’ve already:

✔️ Restocked the fridge
✔️ Handled the returns
✔️ Reset the kitchen
✔️ Confirmed appointments
✔️ Managed the to-do list
✔️ Kept your home running

The biggest luxury isn’t a spotless house.

It’s knowing everything won’t collapse when you’re having an off day.

That’s the real value of support. 🤍

Here’s the simple rule:

If YOU control:
• their schedule
• their responsibilities
• how the work gets done
• and they work consistently in your home

…they’re usually a household employee, not an independent contractor.

That means:
✔️ W2
✔️ payroll taxes
✔️ proper household employment setup

A true 1099 contractor typically:
• sets their own hours
• works for multiple clients
• controls how they complete the work
• operates as their own business

I know families want the easiest setup possible — but doing it correctly from the start protects BOTH you and your House Manager.

Hiring help should make your life easier, not create tax problems later.

Save this if you’re planning to hire household support this year.

I Hired a House Manager Before Office Help 👩🏽‍💻

Hiring a house manager was one of my best decisions for my well-being. Instead of starting a second shift when I get home, I can now focus on my mental and physical health, which helps me show up better at work the next day.

Having help at home creates more value than office help for me, allowing my home to be a space dedicated to relaxation, rejuvenation, and fun.
