πŸ”₯ The Advantages of Data Entry πŸ”₯

Data entry jobs come in a variety of forms, from typing numerical and literary data into a spreadsheet to voice-activated data entry roles. Data entry tasks are often outsourced to an individual, or employees are hired through an agency on a task-by-task basis. Few qualifications are needed for data entry roles; you simply need IT skills, a fast typing speed and a strong work ethic. There are many advantages to pursuing a career in data entry.

πŸ‘‰ Work From Home
The majority of data entry jobs can be done online, simply using a computer and an Internet connection. Typically, you are posted, emailed or sent a web link to the data source and given instructions on a task-by-task basis. This means that you can work from your own home, instead of having to get up and go to the office each morning. As you are not tied to one location, you can accept jobs from companies worldwide, giving you an international working environment. Although many companies offer work-from-home data entry options, this is not an industry standard and some businesses prefer staff to go to an office where their work can be monitored.

πŸ‘‰ Flexible Working Schedule
As long as you meet the deadline for each assignment, you are not normally required to work specific hours. You can also choose the assignments you take on, which means that you can balance your working life around children and other commitments, working early in the mornings or late at night, for example.

πŸ‘‰ Pay Per Entry
Data entry jobs are typically paid per entry. This means that if you have a fast typing speed you have a high earning potential. The more experience you gain, the faster your typing speed will become, meaning that your income will increase automatically over time.

πŸ‘‰ Low Stress
Data entry is a suitable career if you have a hectic life outside of work and simply need some guaranteed income. The tasks are relatively straightforward and methodical, so they can be completed with little worry or stress. You can also calculate the amount you are earning per entry to give yourself an added incentive.

πŸ‘‰ Build Skills
Data entry roles improve your computer skills, numerical and literacy skills and your vocabulary. These skills can help you expand into a new career path in the future if you so desire.πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

πŸ‘‰ Being a remote employee promotes employee well-being.

With no commute, no lunch rush, and no long hours in the office away from family or friends, working remotely can improve the health and wellness of employees by reducing stressβ€”and limiting exposure to potentially sick coworkers. But employers shouldn’t skip a wellness plan in the remote workplace; inclusion in company wellness programs, such as access to the gym, is just as important for those with a flexible work schedule.

πŸ‘‰ Working remotely allows for a better work-life balance. πŸ˜ƒ

For many businesses, even a couple of decades ago, working remotely would have been nearly impossible. Without the right technology, an employee had to go to the office to get their work done. The downside to these technological advances? Blurred lines between work and home life. So maintaining a healthy work-life balance is top of mind for so many employees. The ability to balance these two worlds has become the key to feeling happier and more productive while at work. Saving time that would otherwise be spent on a long commute allows employees to have a better work-life balance and adds hours back into their days.

πŸ‘‰ Tips for working remotely. πŸ˜ƒ

If you want to get the most out of your remote work experience, here are some tips to consider: πŸ‘‡

πŸ‘‰ Create a daily schedule
Having a routine, even when you don't have to commute or start work by a specific time, is essential for remote workers. Create a daily schedule that specifies when to wake up, start work, take breaks and, most importantly, stop working. This helps you establish a healthy work-life balance.

πŸ‘‰ Communicate with your boss frequently
Stay in contact with your boss by checking in with them every few days over the phone or through your company's messaging channel. For example, you could ask a question or tell them about an idea you have for an upcoming project in order to show them that you are invested in the company and your work.

πŸ‘‰ Invest in technology
Having the right technology is essential for improving your productivity while working remotely. Make sure your computer is in working order and has the bandwidth to perform your job. Check your WiFi connection, as well as your internet speed and see if there is room for upgrades. Depending on your job, you might also consider using two monitors, purchasing a high-output printer, wireless headphones to tune out distractions, as well as wireless keyboards and mice.

πŸ‘‰ Keep your workspace clean
A tidy workspace can help you focus and feel more professional. Consider vacuuming (not only the carpet but also your keyboard), wiping down surfaces, cleaning your monitor and regularly emptying your trash bin.

✌️ Who benefits the most from working remotely? ✌️

πŸ‘‡ Many people benefit from working remotely, including the
following: πŸ‘‡

πŸ‘‰ Young parents

Employees with young children might favour working remotely because it gives them time to be with their kids and creates a better work-life balance. Parents can get chores done during their breaks, and they may even be able to set their own hours to flex with their needs.

πŸ‘‰ Employees with health conditions

People with chronic health conditions might work remotely so that they can monitor their condition from the comfort of their homes. By working from home, they can alter their routine and work environment to maintain maximum comfort.

πŸ‘‰ People with a travel lifestyle

Whether someone simply enjoys travelling or they are part of a military family that moves frequently, remote work offers them a constant stream of income. They can keep working for the same company no matter where they live.

πŸ‘‰ People who work more than one job

Remote working allows you the flexibility to juggle more than one job since you don’t need to factor in the commuting time or accommodate different dress codes and company cultures.

πŸ‘‰ What are the benefits of remote jobs?

For remote work to succeed, employers need to provide the right equipment and other support, said Laurel Farrer, chief executive of Distribute Consulting, a business consulting firm. And the employees must be able to get work done without supervision. If set up properly, experts and advocates say, remote work has many benefits:

🀩 Less time on the road.
Commuting by car has increased stress, more pollution and respiratory problems. According to an analysis by the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, the average American who drives to work spends 54 hours per year stuck in traffic, according to an analysis by the Texas A&M Transportation Institute.

🀠 Greater productivity.
One well-known study from 2014 led by Stanford professor Nicholas Bloom examined remote workers at a Chinese travel agency and found 13 percent more efficient than their office-based peers.

🀟 A cleaner environment (maybe).
According to estimates from Global Workplace Analytics, a research and consulting firm, if everyone in the United States worked remotely half of the time, it could reduce greenhouse gas emissions from vehicle travel by more than 51 million metric tons a year. Graphics showing the reduction in air pollution and pictures of clearer skies over cities like Los Angeles have been among the silver linings of the pandemic. Of course, when people return to work, the roads may fill up again, especially if people fear getting the virus on public transit. And even if more people start working remotely, they might use their cars more for errands closer to home, said Bill Eisele, a senior research engineer at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. He said that office commuters make up only 18 percent of all traffic.

πŸ’° Money saved.
Global Workplace Analytics estimated that people could save, on average, $2,000 to $6,500 every year by not spending on things like gasoline and daycare. Companies could spend less on real estate. ACCORDING TO A HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL WORKING PAPER FROM NOVEMBER, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office estimated it saved more than $38 million in 2015 by not using as much office space.

😊 More job satisfaction.
A 2005 study found job satisfaction increased with each additional hour working remotely. But it stopped growing beyond 15 hours worked remotely.

πŸ˜ƒ Less sickness.
Even as companies consider reconfiguring workplaces with plexiglass barriers on desks and special air filters, letting employees work from home can help keep them safe from infectious diseases (and not just Covid-19).

πŸ’ͺ More time for fitness.
You may be able to squeeze in more workouts. β€œHaving a little more time, if you’re using it wisely, can be very beneficial,” said Marilyn Skarbek, an assistant professor of exercise science at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. β€œThere are many other things you can do around the house to keep you moving: laundry, cleaning β€” all of that keeps you active. My house is definitely cleaner than normal.” But there is a risk you could be more sedentary, she warned.

Kate Lister, the president of Global Workplace Analytics, predicted that workers will be looking for the β€œhappy medium,” splitting time between remote work and showing up at the office. The hope is that the pandemic will have shown managers that workers can be trusted to do their jobs without constant supervision. β€œAny kind of flexibility is something that people are really, really ripe for, just some control over where and when they work,” she said.
