Decision input is when AI starts influencing what decisions get made even subtly, and the shift between those two isn't always dramatic. Sometimes it looks like an AI summary becoming the official record or a ranked list quietly becoming the default choice. A suggested response turning into a final answer.
No one announces that shift. It just happens, and once it happens, it becomes very easy to forget where the human judgment actually lived. This is why people say things like, well, that's what AI recommended, or that's what the tool flagged. Not because they're avoiding responsibility, but because the boundary was never clearly defined in the first place.
AI didn't make the decision, but it shaped the path to, to the decision. And in HR shaping the path often matters just as much as the final call.
