As you approach the completion of residency—or reflect on what you want the next phase of your career to look like—it is worth asking a simple question:

What kind of impact do you want to make?

Navy OB/GYN physicians practice full-scope obstetrics and gynecology while serving a mission larger than themselves. From comprehensive women’s health and high-risk obstetrics to surgical gynecology and leadership opportunities, Navy Medicine offers the clinical depth and professional growth you trained for—alongside the privilege of caring for those who serve.

For residents preparing to graduate, this path offers immediate responsibility, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to lead early in your career. You will practice independently, refine your surgical skills, and serve a diverse patient population that includes active-duty service members, spouses, and families.

For attending physicians considering a change, Navy Medicine provides variety and renewed purpose. Whether you are seeking operational experience, teaching opportunities within residency programs, global health engagement, or leadership roles, there is a pathway to shape your career in meaningful ways. You can continue to develop clinically while also expanding your influence beyond the walls of a traditional practice.

This is not simply another position. It is the opportunity to combine surgical skill, women’s health advocacy, mentorship, and service into one cohesive mission.

If you are an OB/GYN resident preparing to graduate—or an attending ready for a new challenge—I would welcome the opportunity to connect and discuss how Navy Medicine may align with your professional and personal goals.

Curious if this could be the right path for you? Connect with me here or check out the job posting on linked in.

This is your office. These are your patients. And this could be your view while deployed.

Not every Navy Dentist serves at sea, but for those drawn to adventure, the ocean offers a practice environment unlike any other. This is not a routine dental procedure in a typical clinic—it is care being delivered aboard the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), where a fully equipped dental facility supports Sailors while deployed around the world.

Navy Dental Officers ensure the crew remains healthy and mission-ready wherever operations take them. It is hands-on dentistry in a dynamic setting that combines clinical excellence with operational impact.

Whether you are a new graduate or an experienced dentist, Navy Dentistry offers opportunities that few careers can match. If you are looking for professional growth paired with real-world adventure, this may be the path for you.

What if Medical Residency didn’t mean living on a resident’s salary alone?

Recipients of the Navy Financial Assistance Program (FAP) receive approximately $79,000 per year in Navy benefits on top of their residency salary (typically $67K–$76K, depending on program).

That means FAP can nearly double your income during residency — while you continue doing the same training and workload as your peers.

What’s the tradeoff?

Yes, there is a service commitment. In return for FAP support, physicians owe 3–5 years of active-duty service with Navy Medicine after training.

For many residents, it’s a worthwhile exchange:
• Reduce or eliminate student loan burden early
• Secure a guaranteed physician position
• Launch your attending career in locations such as Spain, Japan, Guam, San Diego, or Norfolk, VA
• Practice medicine without RVUs or production pressure

Residency is already demanding. Financial stress doesn’t have to be part of it.

If you’re a current medical resident and want to explore whether FAP aligns with your long-term goals, I’m happy to connect and walk you through the details.
