Have Work Pay Forward

Have Work Pay Forward A place to share our experiences paying forward our good fortune of having a job. I was at a diner in downtown Los Angeles. I tried to hand him a $20 bill.

Next door was a non profit called Chrysalis Enterprises that provides a path to people out of poverty. I felt fortunate to have a job and could afford to eat at this diner while the people next door were working hard to find work to support themselves and their family. I decided at that moment to give away all the cash I had in my pocket to as many people looking for work as I could. I finished br

eakfast, went outside and asked one man if he was looking for work. He said he was and asked me if I had one for him. I said no but I feel fortunate to have a job myself and want to share a little of my good fortune with you. He would not take it. He asked what the catch was. I said there is no catch. He could not get over the fact that I just wanted to give him money so I moved on. I tried the next man. He said what's in it for me. I said I just have two requirements. Don't use it for Alcohol and don't use it for drugs. He said he doesn't. I handed him a 20. He reluctantly took it. I walked away and he said god bless you. I was hooked. I continued to hand out $20 dollar bills to people and once they realized there was no catch they were so thankful. God bless you sir. Each time I gave out a $20 bill, I gave my two requests and usually advised them to search in their heart for what they enjoy doing and strive to do that for a living. Don't look at the hurdles in front. Take small steps and you will achieve what you want to do. The beauty of doing this in front of an Employment Development building is that these people are trying hard to get a job. The first man watched me hand out money and eventually came over and said god bless you sir and I gave him a 20 saying you finally decided to take it. He smiled and said you have brought a little joy to a lot of people. This page is about sharing our good fortune with those down on their luck and then sharing the experience of it. It is intoxicating to pay forward your good fortune. I am not an advocate of giving money to homeless individuals that are not helping themselves. I think it is important to do this at employment development centers like Chrysalis. Share money, food, jobs etc. Whatever you can share to help these people to get back on their feet. It will do you a lot of good. It has done me a lot of good. Love who you are and what you do and give back to those less fortunate.

There are a lot of good people out of work that need help. These are not the people that are sponging off society that some right leaning talk shows love to slam. These are hurting individuals that due to circumstances of the economy cannot find work. They need to know that there are large numbers of people that want to help.

I shared all the cash in my pocket with people outside of an employment development center. It brought joy to me and those that received. I am hooked. Share your experience of giving to those that are in need of work. I received at least 8 god bless you's. More than I have ever received in my life. It was a powerful experience for me and for those that received money for no reason other than I just wanted to share my good fortune.
