Our client, a major California winery, is putting together a dynamic sales and merchandising team to call on chain grocery and drug stores throughout Northern CA during their busiest season, September 14th through the end of 2020. The Sales & Merchandising Representatives they hire will be the main point of contact for all stores in each assigned territory. The routes require a commitment of 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday; although Representatives may create their own schedules with start times anywhere from 4 AM to 6 AM each day.

The Chain Sales-Merchandising Representatives will build key relationships with the Managers at each assigned store. They are accountable for ensuring in-stock conditions on the shelves, in floor displays and in the Cold Box. A key component of the job involves collaboration with each Store Manager to drive incremental display cases to the floor. Reps should arrange their schedules to include all stores on each week’s route that allows an in-person connection with the respective store manager or other designated decision maker.

The products to be merchandised will have already been delivered to each store by our client’s fleet of trucks earlier that day or week. Merchandisers carry some lightweight point of sale in their personal vehicles such as shelf talkers, price tags and bottle neck hangers.
The territory includes portions of both Sacramento and El Dorado Counties with accounts in South Lake Tahoe, Jackson, Shingle Springs, Placerville, Po***ck Pines, Fair Oaks, El Dorado Hills, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Orangevale and Sutter Creek. Applicants must live within 20 miles or less of one of these Cities in order to be considered.

Requirements:
• Successful candidates for this role are collaborative, effective communicators.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a team-environment.
• Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
• A reliable personal vehicle and mobile phone are required.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds multiple times a day and occasionally climb ladders.
• At least one year of retail, sales or merchandising experience is ideal but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with an iPad as well as Microsoft Suite is desired.
• Minimum high school diploma; at least some college highly preferred.
• Candidates must live within 20 miles of at least one location listed in this posting.

Compensation:
$18.00 an hour plus mileage (grossed up) at 57.5 cents a mile. Merchandisers are paid via their choice of a payroll debit card or direct deposit each Friday following the last week in which they worked.

Benefits:
MPA’s payroll service will withhold and pay all applicable taxes; provide unemployment insurance and workers’ compensation benefits; and handle unemployment and workers’ compensation claims involving Assigned Employees. We offer affordable, minimum essential coverage to all employees who are anticipated to work 120 hours in a month.
