We're a relatively new start-up, and our mission is to change the way small, medium and even enterprise businesses engage with staffing agencies. Frankly, we think agencies charge far too much, and we've got a model to fix it.

According to Staffing Industry Analysts, the average rate charged by a staffing agency is 20% of the first year's base salary, aka, if a candidate is hired on at $80,000 per year, the staffing agency will charge $16,000. Pretty crazy amount of money to just go out and find someone, especially since the effort many agencies put forth is to simply post the job on ZipRecruiter/Indeed and then send over a stack of resumes.

The reason staffing agencies have to charge so much is that the company that does end up paying for a placement is also paying for all the time and money the agency spent trying to fill other company's jobs unsuccessfully. Basically, if you're paying 20%, you're subsidizing failure.

We have been having success with our new model. It enables us to charge a small flat fee plus 5-11% of the first year's salary as a commission, while still providing the exact same, or dare I be so bold, better service.

While we are a start-up, we bring over 35 years of technical recruiting experience among us, and have placed over 40 candidates in the last year to companies such as WholeFoods, CareerBuilder, and Broadbean Technology.

ZipRecruiter has changed the recruitment game by making talent accessible and affordable -- 80% of posted jobs have a qualified applicant within 1 day. However, ZipRecruiter often provides so many applications that it can be quite time consuming to sort through them all just to find The One.

We introduced our Zip2Interview service to assist you with finding the needle in the haystack, and our expertise is available without the high cost traditionally associated with using a recruiting firm.

Zip2Interview: We post the advertisement to ZipRecruiter, review all applications and provide you a shortlist. Provide us feedback on the shortlist, and we'll phone screen each candidate you wish to have progressed. After completing the phone screens, you join the process with a set of qualified, screened and interested candidates ready for an on-site interview. We will act as your agent for scheduling interviews, providing offer letters, completing assessments, etc. $325 engagement fee plus 5% of a placements base salary.

Engagement Recruitment: We will endeavor to fill the position by any means necessary, including sourcing from our various databases of over 135 million candidates, advertising where our experience dictates, and 'poaching' from your competitors. $739 engagement fee plus 11% of the placements base salary. Two qualified interviews or your engagement fee returned.
