Good news for the job market this morning.
U.S. employers added 162,000 jobs in August, more than triple expectations and the strongest monthly gain since March. June and July were also revised higher, while unemployment held steady at 4.1%.
This is a strong way to head into the fall.
Hiring tends to follow confidence. When companies feel good about the economy and where their business is headed, they’re more likely to move forward with hiring plans and add to their teams.
Today’s report gives businesses another reason to feel confident heading into the final months of the year.
