A Discrimination Client:
"The attorney's at this firm exuded well deserved confidence which made me feel that I was in good hands. They knew everything about the laws affecting my case and prepared/set my expectations accordingly. They were courteous and professional and I am happy to have chosen their services." An Employment Client:
"My employer failed to pay me overtime wages and terminated me when I complained about the unpaid wages. I contacted several law firms, seeking justice for what was done to me. Not one was interested in the case. Most felt that the fight was not going to have profitable returns for their firms. I then spoke to William Phillips. He explained my legal rights both clearly and succinctly, treated me with courtesy and kept me informed along the way. His hard work and diligence resulted in a successful outcome. He exceeded my expectations by securing a better severance agreement. My thanks and appreciation go to William for his skillful handling of this matter. I knew I had found the right lawyer." SERVICES

S*xual harassment in the workplace is not always obvious.

While many people think of harassment as unwanted physical contact or explicit advances, it can also include inappropriate comments, repeated requests for dates, sexually suggestive jokes, offensive messages, sharing explicit materials, or other unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature. In some cases, a single serious incident may be enough to create a hostile work environment.

No employee should feel pressured to tolerate inappropriate behavior in order to keep their job, earn a promotion, or be treated fairly at work.

At Phillips & Associates, PLLC, we are dedicated exclusively to representing employees. Our attorneys help workers understand their rights and pursue claims against employers who allow sexual harassment to occur in the workplace.

It doesn't always look like an obvious slur or an outright firing.

Racial discrimination at work shows up in who gets promoted, who gets passed over, who's held to different standards, and who's pushed out. It's systemic. It's subtle. And it's still illegal.

If you've experienced it, you don't have to absorb it in silence.

Your timecard says one thing. Your paycheck says another. Which one is right?

If your employer's time records don't match the hours you actually worked, you may still have an unpaid wage or overtime claim. Employers are legally required to keep accurate time and payroll records. When those records are incomplete or inaccurate, schedules, messages, pay stubs, and your own testimony can help establish the hours you worked and wages you're owed.

The reason microaggressions are so hard to address is that each one comes with built-in deniability.

"It was just a compliment." "I was curious." "You're too sensitive."

But research is clear: consistent exposure to microaggressions causes real harm — anxiety, burnout, and a sense of exclusion that compounds over time.

From a legal standpoint, a single microaggression may not establish a claim on its own. But a pattern — especially one tied to your race, gender, disability, or another protected characteristic — can be part of a larger hostile work environment claim.

Document what's happening. Dates, what was said, who heard it. That record matters more than most people realize.
