Looking for ways to reduce screen time this summer? ☀️📵

Kids today often spend hours each day on screens and less time outdoors. A screen-free summer can encourage creativity, physical activity, exploration, and quality family time.

Try setting aside one screen-free day each week and fill it with fun activities like:
🌳 Go on a nature scavenger hunt
🚲 Ride bikes around the neighborhood
🏕️ Build a backyard fort or tent
🍋 Run a lemonade stand
🌻 Plant a garden
🎣 Go fishing
🎨 Paint rocks or create sidewalk art
🔥 Make s’mores and roast marshmallows
🌧️ Dance in the rain
⭐ Search for constellations at night

The best childhood memories are often made outside - exploring, creating, and spending time together. This summer, swap screens for adventures and make the most of every sunny day! ☀️💚

🤰 Every trimester brings new changes, new challenges, and exciting milestones.

The first trimester is often filled with nausea, fatigue, and rapid baby development. By the second trimester, many moms start feeling more energetic, their bump becomes visible, and those first tiny baby kicks may arrive. 💕

No two pregnancies are exactly the same, but understanding what to expect can help you feel more prepared and confident throughout the journey.

Which trimester was your favorite? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Toddler tantrums can feel overwhelming, but they’re a normal part of development 💛

Toddlers are still learning how to handle big emotions, frustration, hunger, tiredness, and disappointment. In those moments, they don’t need perfection — they need connection ✨

What usually helps:
✔️ Staying calm
✔️ Validating feelings
✔️ Offering comfort and choices
✔️ Giving them time to regulate

What often makes tantrums worse:
❌ Yelling
❌ Threats or bribes
❌ Repeating “no” over and over
❌ Expecting too much when they’re tired or overstimulated

Remember: connection before correction 🤍

When Tantrums Get Physical: Responding with Safety & Calm

When children hit, kick, bite, or throw during a tantrum, it is usually a sign that their nervous system is overwhelmed—not that they are “bad.”

In these moments, the goal is safety first, not punishment or shame.

Stay as calm as possible and use a steady, confident voice to communicate safety and boundaries.

You can gently block hitting hands or move unsafe objects while saying, “I won’t let you hurt me” or “I’m keeping everyone safe.”

Avoid yelling, threatening, or reacting aggressively, because intense reactions can increase dysregulation.

Remember that young children often do not have the skills to manage big emotions without support.

Keep your language short and simple because overwhelmed brains cannot process long explanations.

If possible, stay physically close while giving enough space for them to calm safely.

Once the storm has passed and your child is regulated again, that is the time to teach coping skills and boundaries.

Practice replacement behaviors later, like stomping feet, squeezing a pillow, asking for help, or using calming tools.

Children learn emotional regulation through repeated experiences of calm, safe support from trusted adults.

Holding boundaries with connection teaches children they are safe, even in their biggest emotions.

New York State is implementing a new law (effective April 18, 2026) that largely prohibits employers from using consumer credit history in employment decisions, with only limited exceptions. Background screening providers also cannot supply credit reports unless an exemption applies.

Key implications:
• Employers must verify whether they qualify for an exemption before using credit reports.
• If eligible, they must submit a certification form; otherwise, credit report requests will be paused.
• If not eligible, employers should cancel or remove credit checks from background screenings.

Allowed exceptions include roles involving:
• Legal or regulatory requirements to check credit
• Law enforcement or government investigative positions
• High-trust public roles or bonded positions
• Security clearance requirements
• Access to sensitive information (e.g., trade secrets, national security)
• Financial authority over $10,000+ or fiduciary responsibilities
• Responsibility for digital security systems

Most employers in New York can no longer use credit checks in hiring unless they clearly meet specific legal exemptions and certify compliance.

Easter and Spring Activities for Kids 🌸

Spring is here, and Easter is just around the corner! It’s the perfect time to shake off winter blues and dive into colorful, fun-filled activities that spark creativity, learning, and quality family time. No matter their age, there’s something for every little one—and even the whole family—to enjoy!

For Toddlers:
• Egg Carton Flowers – Turn ordinary egg cartons into a vibrant garden! Let your toddlers paint and assemble their very own flowers while developing fine motor skills.
• Bunny Hop Obstacle Course – Transform your living room or backyard into a hopping wonderland. Pillows, boxes, and soft toys become obstacles in this giggle-packed activity that boosts coordination.

For Preschoolers:
• Easter Egg Rock Hunt – Skip the sugar and go green! Paint rocks to look like Easter eggs and hide them around the garden or house for a creative, eco-friendly twist on the classic hunt.
• DIY Seed Bombs – Mix soil, clay, and wildflower seeds to make “seed bombs.” Preschoolers can plant them and watch their blooms grow, learning patience and the magic of nature.

For School-Aged Kids:
• Egg Drop Science Experiment – Challenge older kids to build the ultimate egg-protecting contraption. This hands-on activity sparks problem-solving, creativity, and a little friendly competition.
• Easter-Themed Bake-Off – Whip up festive treats together! Reading recipes, measuring ingredients, and decorating creations encourages teamwork, boosts confidence, and sneaks in a bit of math.

For All Ages / Family Fun:
• Family Gardening Project – Start a garden indoors or outdoors! Planting, watering, and watching your plants grow teaches responsibility, teamwork, and a love of nature.
• Custom Easter Baskets – Make Easter baskets extra special by crafting and personalizing them. Fill them with handmade gifts, notes, or treats for a memorable family activity.
• Virtual Easter Egg Design – Take creativity digital! Use apps to design colorful Easter eggs and share them online with friends and family—perfect for a modern, mess-free twist.

Springtime is the perfect excuse to get messy, creative, and playful together. These activities promise laughter, learning, and lasting memories for kids of all ages!
