5 years of Ava Campano.

We can’t believe how quickly that time has gone!

Ava joined us as an intern in June 2021 after her mum sold her to me at a memorial service. Shout out to Kari Maxwell Campano!

It didn’t take long for us to realise how talented she was, and a year later we made sure she became a permanent part of FIFTEEN WEST.

Fast forward 5 years...

• Ava has built a strong Financial Services & Professional Services practice after specialising just 18 months ago
• Become our resident “Retainer Queen” with one of the fastest fill rates in the business
• She has earned the trust of clients/candidates through genuine care and consistently going the extra mile!
• Relocated to London for a year to challenge herself and accelerate her development

What makes Ava special isn’t just the numbers or the results. It’s the attitude she brings every single day. She’s ambitious, driven, incredibly resilient and always willing to do whatever it takes for her clients, candidates and team.

We are unbelievably proud of everything you’ve achieved so far, Ava.

On Monday, we hosted our quarterly Women in Leadership event.

We ran a roundtable focused on addressing the issue of under represents of women in recruitment boardrooms.

One thing was clear:

This isn’t a pipeline problem.
It’s a systems, sponsorship, and leadership behaviour problem.

A few takeaways:

• Women don’t drop out early. They drop out when progression requires permission and sponsorship.

• Mentoring builds confidence. Sponsorship changes outcomes.

• We over-train billing and under-train leadership.

• Inclusive cultures don’t happen by intent alone. They require accountability.

It was such a productive and important discussion with actionable take aways

A few years ago, I wanted to create a space for women in recruitment, purely for growth, connection, and support (originally for selfish reasons lol)

It stayed as an idea… until now.

Having seen the power of women-led communities in other industries, it always felt surprising that recruitment didn’t have something like this, especially in a city like NYC 🗽

WinR was created to change that, with the support of FIFTEEN WEST and a clear intention: to bring women together, champion one another, and grow together
