NYC: Checked in, Schmoozed Up, and Now Checked Out

Just wrapped up an incredible, whirlwind business trip to New York City! My calendar looked like a game of Tetris with back-to-back meetings, but every single one was worth it.

Huge thanks to everyone whi carved out time to meet. It was fantastic to reconnect with existing clients - your insights always fuel my next steps. To all the brilliant people I met while networking, I'm genuinely excited about the seeds of collaboration we planted. The energy of this city is infectious and it's always inspiring to talk shop with such sharp minds.

Yesterday was incredible, returning to my alma mater to work with the fantastic students at on getting ready for the upcoming career fair. Resume review, interview prep, appropriate attire, and ALL the burning questions prospective employers might ask. It's a good sign when you run over time so much that the career center is about to close! Thanks to for the awesome gift bag and UM swag!

We are searching for a perceptive and sharp staff accountant to join our growing team. The staff accountant will evaluate client books from start to finish, review bank reconciliations, assist with tax returns (individual and corporate), and improve policies and procedures where needed.
Team member should be analytical, problem solvers, and organized with a proactive attitude.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
• Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
• Update and maintain general ledger for clients
• Reconciliation of entries into the accounting systems
• Recording of debits and credits
• Producing various financial reports
• Preparation of Sales Tax, Payroll Tax, and Tangible Personal Property Tax Returns
• Corporate tax returns

Staff Accountant Requirements:
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Accounting degree or work experience in public accounting in lieu of degree
• Understanding accounting best practices
• Understanding of US GAAP, GATAP, or other accounting framework
• Knowledge of Quickbooks
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Experience with Accounting CS, Ultratax or Fixed Assets software a plus

JOB TYPE: Full¬time, Exempt Position
