Louisiana’s successful energy industry depends on more than production. It also relies on the infrastructure, workforce and supply chains that keep critical materials moving.

Avondale Global Gateway (T. Parker Host) recently welcomed its first 15,000-ton aluminum shipment through a new trade route expected to bring between 200,000 and 300,000 tons of aluminum through the Jefferson Parish facility each year. These materials help support American manufacturers across the energy, transportation and defense industries.

With more than 600 people working on site and connections by river, rail and road, Avondale is another example of how Louisiana’s industrial infrastructure and skilled workforce help strengthen American energy and manufacturing.

Shell Norco brought together 16 teams for its 20th Annual Cook-Off, serving up jambalaya, pastalaya and gumbo while kicking off its annual employee giving campaign.

This year’s theme, “Fueled By Purpose: Driven By Heroes,” celebrates the employees and local organizations working every day to make a difference. Representatives from United Way of St. Charles, The Arc of St. Charles, Special Olympics Louisiana and Creative Family Solutions were also there to share how their work is helping strengthen communities across the region.

This is what Louisiana energy looks like beyond the job: people coming together, giving back and investing in the places they call home. 💙

A major new investment is taking shape in Ascension Parish.

CF Industries, JERA Co., Inc. and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. / 三井物産株式会社 have broken ground on Blue Point One, a $3.7 billion low-carbon ammonia plant expected to become the world’s largest facility of its kind.

The project is expected to create approximately 3,900 construction jobs, more than 100 permanent manufacturing jobs and new opportunities for Louisiana workers. Once operational, the facility will support domestic fertilizer production, emerging energy applications and greater access to global markets.

This is another example of Louisiana’s workforce, resources and industrial expertise creating opportunities for the next generation of energy and manufacturing.

Louisiana energy.

It starts with Louisiana’s natural resources, infrastructure and generations of industry experience. But most importantly, it starts with Louisiana workers.

Together, they produce essential products that power society, connect our state to the world and create new opportunities for communities across Louisiana.

True or false: Louisiana energy careers are only found offshore.
False! The industry offers opportunities on land and offshore in skilled trades, engineering, operations, technology, environmental science and many other fields. And that's not to mention the many jobs that exist to support and supply energy companies. There’s more than one way to build a career while helping power Louisiana.

Louisiana’s energy industry is positioning the state at the center of the South’s continued economic growth.

With more than $175 billion in output from petroleum refining, oil and gas extraction, and gasoline distribution, Louisiana has a strong foundation for attracting new investment, supporting skilled jobs and strengthening industries across the state.

The opportunity is clear, but maintaining this momentum will require continued focus on reliable and affordable energy, workforce development, infrastructure and coastal resilience.
