"I am a River" a river habitat mural by Lots of Fish and PT Partners Youth Corps, led by Juliemar Ortiz The mural flanks a new little public park along the water in Bridgeport.

The "I am a River" mural depicts an freshwater river habitat on a graffiti inspired background. Local Pumpkinseed Fish and Yellow Perch swim along with turtles & frogs beside river plant life and "healthy river" insects like dragonflies and mayflies.

Some fish encapsulate human eyes, while other eyes keep watch in the water, reminding us to be mindful of our habits that can both help or hurt the health of our waterways.

In Connecticut, rivers lead to the Long Island Sound and then to the Atlantic Ocean. How we treat our land and water impacts our entire planet. Healthy water habitats nurture rich biodiversity that supports all life above and below the water, including humans. “ Water is Life”.
