We are recruiting for a Grand Haven manufacturing facility that is a leader in the production and sale of automobile engine parts, marine engine parts, and other products.
There are 3rd shifts available with a shift premium = $17.25 an hour.
The Production Associate is responsible for performing all tasks involved in the production of valve seat inserts, following standard work instructions, and practicing safe work habits to ensure that production is as efficient and as safe as possible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for meeting cycle times
- Suggests, initiates, and/or supports recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, equipment maintenance, quality of product, and cost savings
- Monitors the equipment operations to ensure all products run to the standard production specs and production schedule
- Ensures machinery is operating properly by watching or adjusting controls, gauges, dials, or other indicators
- Assists with performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what maintenance is needed.
- Conducts quality checks and inspections of products or processes using various methods gauges and computer equipment.
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment following Company 5s guidelines
- Works to continuously improve in all areas of productivity, cost, safety, quality, and employee relations.
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred, working with metals in the automotive industry a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to use basic math and reading skills
- Demonstrated ability to use effective two-way communication and maintain positive relationships
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position spends most of the time on a moderately noisy non-climate-controlled manufacturing floor.
- Stand, bend, twist, reach, walk, climb and stoop throughout the day
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 35 pounds
