Career service offers assistance to students after graduation in several ways.

1. Networking with other health care facilities such as nursing homes and home health agencies and hospitals.
2. Attending networking meeting to keep in touch with facilities which can hire our students and to recruit instructors.
3. Attending job fairs to recruit students as well as meet other healthcare facilities t

o assist with hiring our students.
4. Sending out email blast job postings to the students who request to be placed on our email list.
5. When calling students to conduct follow ups, CS will ask student if they would like to be placed on the email blast list for job postings.
6. This email list is sent to the HR director and included would be the student name the course, and the email address.
7. Job posting sent to students can come from craigslist, other employment websites or healthcare facilities which we network with sending us their employment needs.
8. There is a job board at the Cass Ave. school location where employment job posting are posted and refreshed every two weeks.
9. The job postings to be placed on the board are sent by the HR director and gathered through employment posting s and job posting sent via emails from networking employers which we have built relationships.
10. We also will write/critique resumes. If you would like your resume written (from Scratch) that is a $25 fee. If you have an active resume that you would like for us to look over, that is completely free. You can just email it to one of us in Career Services for for review. JOB SUMMARY:
Working under supervision of various providers and/or Center Administrator, in an outpatient setting, provides basic and routine assistance with patient care delivery within the medical assistant scope of practice and required certifications in accordance with Concentra policies, practices and procedures and applicable regulations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Welcomes patients
•Prepares patients for health care visit
•Places patient in exam room for provider evaluation.
•Obtains medical history.
•Verifies patient information
•Prepares, assists and accurately completes all forms
•Supports patient care delivery
•Assists providers during examination and treatment
•Takes vital signs and performs all ancillary tests appropriate to skill level, certifications and state regulations
•Performs ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the Center Medical Director (PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, blood draws) and as certified.
•Assists in surgery set up and injury care as directed by the treating provider
•Dispenses medications and appliances within scope of practice and as ordered by the treating provider and in accordance with state regulations.
•Applies bandages, dressings and splints as ordered by the treating provider.
•Educates patients
•Completes records
•Maintains supplies, cleans rooms and equipment, and stocks rooms with required supplies
•Maintains and operates all clinical equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures.
•Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment
•Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, cooperative, sensitive, respectful and kind with dealing with patients, visitors, the public and all colleagues
•Assists in maintaining a neat, clean and orderly appearance in the lobby and overall center throughout the day.
•Performs drug screen collections for both DOT and Non-DOT drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensures preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory.
•Performs front office clerical duties such as answering telephones, check-in, check-out and record processing as requested by Center Administrator.
•Attends centers staff meetings as required.
•Completes required certifications; becomes proficient in clinic systems and procedures, and maintains currency in all policies, practices and procedures.
•May assist with clerical activities related to appointment scheduling and patient intake , data verification, office communications, and filing of patient records.
•May take X-Rays with appropriate certification and/or licensing.

Description JOB SUMMARY

The Laboratory Aide performs all specimen collection by phlebotomy from the correct individual at in-house or off-site locations. In addition, obtains other specimens when indicated, and instructs patients in the collection of specimens as necessary. May be required to enter Pathology specimens into various computerized information systems along with the preparation and staining of Cytology specimens. Performs tasks in all laboratory areas under the direction of the appropriate Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory Technologists, Cytotechnologists or other designated laboratory personnel and has appropriate knowledge of those areas so as to be able to function as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED
A valid Michigan Driver’s License and be insurable under the hospital insurance program
Must possess a certification as a Phlebotomy Technician or Medical Assistant, or have a minimum of six months prior work experience as a Phlebotomist

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of accredited phlebotomy program, medical assistant school or 6 months prior phlebotomy /medical assistant experience or Bachelor degree in science if position is in the Microbiology Department
Six months of prior work experience as a Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant

Job Details: The Clinical Services Clerk II is responsible for the daily tasks of the physician’s office and clinical areas involved with direct patient care. Duties include clerical, transcription, and medical assistant responsibilities. Previous medical assistant experience highly recommended. Knowledge of computers (HDS system, IRIS and WORD), medical terminology and typing.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a MA program, or active EMT license/certification, or active LPN. AHA BLS card. Ability to perform EKG's, phlebotomy, administer injections and assist in procedures. Must be willing to work evenings.
